People want, and in fact, demand justice. It's part of the human psyche. The problem is, they want it for the *other* guy! Almost without exception, people think they are basically good. Oh, maybe Adolf Hitler or some other really evil person like that deserves to go to hell, but not them! Ok, so they're not perfect, but God understands and will excuse their "failings", afterall, they're only human. Most people today are convinced the Lord grades on the curve, like they do... so compared to mass murderers, they're decent folks. They don't know God, and they don't know the seriousness of sin!

The Lord does look on the heart and judges motivates, etc., but in the final analysis, He has an absolute standard of holiness and righteousness. Either Christ was punished in our place because we are all sinners, or we will be. Since Adam's fall brought orignal sin into the world, we are sinners from conception. The doctrine of original sin needs to be taught much more than it is. People have got the wrong idea about themselves and others

Would not proclaim:

The Anointed one and his anointing is not in agreement with that statement of being born into sin, and also The church's message to the world is:

14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

AMEN, great post Steve.

Unfortunately those in sin don't like to hear about their sin. They would rather have their ears tickled with the love of God but not about his judgement.

Sin moves by drawing the mind away from God, enticing the affections

and twisting desires and paralyzing the will, thus stunting any real Christian

growth.11 One of the most frightening truths that Owen wants the believer to

recognize is that Your enemy is not only upon you . . . but is in you also.12

Part of understanding the battle against sin is seeing that the enemy, so to

speak, is not only external, but internal, which is why Christians often have

conflicting desires within them.13 Most Christians seem unaware of or apathetic

about the sin that remains in them, but whether they recognize it or not

there is a living coal continually in their houses, which, if not properly

attended to, will catch their home on fire.

So...

as a Calvinist...how do you "Deal" with Original Sin?

How can Man...if he is Totally Depraved and Unable to Respond to God...how can Man -- Overcome Original Sin?

Or Wait...it is not Man...but...God that takes care of it...Right?

New International Version (NIV)

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to dothis I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in Gods law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to Gods law, but in my sinful nature[b] a slave to the law of sin.

No need to throw out but you are responsible to divide the word of truth when you speak it.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

These verses are talking about Paul before he was born again.

the very next ch he answers himself, and also in verse nine you missed something.
