You are so true in this PJ... Christians who still practice sins have not been truly born again through the washing and cleansing of the Holy Spirit, born again from above in Christ. Paul says, we are to put away those sins we use to commit BEFORE we were saved. And anyone who continues to practice the same sins they did before they were saved, has not truly been born again.
Hear what Jesus has to say:Matthew chapter 15: 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8. “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’[c]”
10. Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” 12. Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” 13. He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
15. Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.” 16. “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. 17. “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18. But the things that come out of a person’s MOUTH come from the heart, and these defile them.
19. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
Sin comes from the heart of man who refuses to surrender to the woring of the Holy Spirit in his/her life to rid them of their sins.
If all of the aformentioned were really true...why would Paul (the author of the Epislte to the Romans) write this?
For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.
Rom 7:16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that [it is] good.
Rom 7:17 But now, [it is] no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but [how] to perform what is good I do not find.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I will [to do], I do not do; but the evil I will not [to do], that I practice.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do what I will not [to do], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Until the flesh is dead Ladies and Gentleman, the war with it will continue.
Nobody said anything about the flesh, maybe that was your assumption, but at the same time one would hope you wouldn't encourage so much the sin. The context you posted was paul prior to being born again thought maybe you didn't know that.

As posted by the man before you:Romans 7;
the sin nature still remains.
Pau was 'PRESENTLY' sold under sin,as a believer in Yeshua.
In Romans 7 Paul is taking about his present day conditon.
The words he uses 'I am' sold under sin.
These are in the 'Present Indicative' tense.

George all one need to do is consider the source, if you had any idea what you said, would you have said it, in otherwords you just said Paul was not saved!!
Your response is an excellent example of the post.
