Posted : 20 Sep, 2011 07:29 AM I have been thinking that one cure for all the heretical nonsense that is out there today, is to have a small handbook on the history of heresy starting at the beginning. If Christians could see how it went, with the exact order and names of the heretics, etc, it would help them steer clear of heresies, and help them realize that all the junk out there today was already rejected by the Christian church long ago. Start right in Scripture with the Judaizers, and then give some names of modern day judaizers in church history, and some groups working teaching this today. Then, proceed in order just like it happened with the Gnostics, then the Montanists, then Arius, etc, etc. I really do believe that if modern day American Christians could see that the early Christians rejected all those things long ago, and that we STILL reject them, it would help them be more solid in their faith.
