He asks how to be 'born of God'

hey bahira, how are you? Hope your in good health- Hi Aliasgar, I am ok. Thank you. Glad to hear from you as always.

"You should be born of God".....I didn't control my birth...how can I be born of God?!?!?! The sentence makes no sense.....

- God said that we are adopted by God through the FAITH in the Son of God. Can you be called as a son of God? Yes. Can you be called as Gods inheritance and heir? Yes, if God will adopt you. Can you control this process to be a son of God adopted by Him? Definitely, if you will fulfill His requirements/ required procedure of adoption: if you will believe in the Son of God, repent of all your sins and confess them to God in a prayer. When you will finish your prayer the Spirit of God will enter in your heart and body and will dwell in you. Your body will be the Temple of God. God will dwell in you. Let me remind you some Bible passages:

Jesus said:

If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me.

Because I live, you will live also.

At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.

And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father,

and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us,

and not to the world?

Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;

and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Fathers who sent Me. John 14:15-24

Look again: (the Holy Spirit) He dwells with you and will be in you

So, to be born of God means that we will be regenerated through our FAITH in the Son of God. It refers to a state of being. We are a new beings regenerated by the Spirit of God through the FAITH in the Son of God. We were dead in our sins (spiritually dead), but God made us alive (rebirth!) by having our sins forgiven through the Faith in the Son of God. How? The idea is of being created in Christ, the transformation of the sinner into a disciple of Christ is accomplished when we repent of all our sins and abandon them to be cleansed and washed away of all iniquities we have ever committed.

Ephesians 2:1-10

By Grace Through Faith

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

So, Aliasgar, if you were dead in your sins and trespasses, then now you do not have these sins which condemned you to death because God said: Punishment for sin is DEATH.

It is a spiritual process of regeneration/rebirth when we made alive to live eternally with God. Moreover, God Himself will dwell in our bodies and His Spirit will teach us to observe all what He said. If you will not be adopted by God, you will remain a slave in Islam. Are you born of God in this case? No. Are you born of the Word of God Jesus? No. You rejected Jesus as Islam teaches that. So, your position before God: you are a sinner, a criminal against God and people and moreover a sexual immoral person and an idol worshipper. How in such state are you going to enter the Kingdom of God? It is impossible because without righteousness no one will see God.

When you will be adopted, the righteousness of the Son of God will be imputed to you. He took your sins on the cross and the law was fulfilled on the cross: Punishment for sin is DEATH. He died instead of you. He was holy but became a sin to save you and justify you and cleanse your hands and feet to make you HOLY!!! Why? God is LOVE. He loves you as no one else in this world or in any other world.

So, when you will repent and pray to God Jesus, immediately you will be born of God. All your sins will be forgiven and your name will be written in the Book of Life. If you will be adopted by God. Are you a son of God in this case? Of course! Is it not a regeneration of a killer into a new being who is called to live a holy life? If a killer will prefer to stay a sinner/killer then HOW He will enter the Kingdom of God? !!

Look what how Jesus explained us the process of rebirth:

Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:5-8

Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

Jesus said here that you should be born of the Spirit of God when you will REPENT of your sins (baptizing). How? Through the Faith in the Son of God.

Look Jesus continues His explanation here:

No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish

but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.

John 3:13-21

So, we see that Jesus explained that no only repentance is required to be regenerated but the faith in the Son of God who is God. Jesus said that He came from heaven. By saying that He pointed out that He is God. Through the faith in Jesus, you are forgiven if you truly believe in the God who created the universe- Jesus. Because the Son of God is our Creator.

Furthermore, no matter how much you rationalize, unfortunately, I'm sorry to say....to me, John 10:17-18 sounds like nonsense and jibrish....no offense....- Lets read together this passage mentioned by you:

Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father. John 10:17-18

The Son of God is the Word of God. He is the Creator of the universe and He is God. He willingly died on the cross because He was the almighty God. Better to say He willingly accepted the death. It was impossible to take from God what belongs to Him. He willingly descended from the Kingdom of God and dwelt among us to reveal us His Father the God of Love- and He willingly took the sins of the world. He gave His life for salvation of mankind and He resurrected Himself because He was the almighty God. This is the commentary of this Bible passage which confused you.

Look again who is Jesus/the Word of God:

John 1:1-5, 14

The Eternal Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Aliasgar, you should be born of God!!!!

John 3

The New Birth

1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.

3 Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mothers womb and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again. 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, How can these things be?

10 Jesus answered and said to him, Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.[a] 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but[b] have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.

John the Baptist Exalts Christ

22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. 24 For John had not yet been thrown into prison.

25 Then there arose a dispute between some of Johns disciples and the Jews about purification. 26 And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testifiedbehold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, I have been sent before Him. 29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegrooms voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. 33 He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. 34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

The Jewish laws, or better to say the laws of God, which govern Jewish and Christian life are intended to shape a character of sensitivity, kindness, passion and compassion.

On the Judgment Day all the inhabitants of the world (children, men and women) pass for judgment before the Creator.

Who is this Creator?

He is Jesus.

He is the Messiah.

He is Jesus in Islam and Bible.

He is the ultimate Judge.

We all can repent and become righteous through the FAITH in the Son of God. The wicked/sinners will be "blotted out of the Book of the living/the Book of Life."

The Son of God Jesus took the sin of the world (millions of sins of people) to justify us during the coming Judgment Day. And if you do not need His salvation through FAITH in Him then how are you going to be justified for your sins?

He is the Judge.

The God Jesus will be sitting upon a White Throne, while books containing the deeds of all humanity will be opened for review, and each person passing in front of Him for evaluation of his or her deeds. Will you escape this Judgment Day? We will survive only through faith in the Son of God!
