"Only Begotten"
Posted : 6 Oct, 2011 08:39 AM
God is trying to get our attention and to draw those who are His back to Him before it is too late.before our day of destruction!!!! With open arms and with tears of joy God promises to welcome and to shelter and comfort ALL who will come to Him before these events take place (or before their earthly bodies die).
The Kingdom of Heaven is available to every man, woman, boy, and girl in this world, no matter who they are, where they live, or what they have done. It is freely offered to any and all who will receive it. Believe that the Son of God died on the Cross for all of your sins and rose from the grave. Learn of Him and believe in Him for He was the only one who has ever loved you enough to substitute Himself for you on the Cross. He died instead of you. He shed His blood, suffered, and died on the Cross to save you from the Gods Wrath against your sins and from the utter darkness and torment of hell and in the lake of fire, if you will accept it, believe it, and trust in it. That is why Jesus is called Savior. He now lovingly and graciously offers you life in Heaven. Eternal life!!!! He will receive all who will come to Him in faith and in love ... It's God's Promise!!!
The only unpardonable sin is to reject God's love and His free offer of life in the Kingdom of Heaven by rejecting the Son of God Jesus, the Messiah, who stepped forth from Heaven as God promised that in over 300 prophecies before His actual birth on earth. Jesus came to our world not to condemn the sinner, but to save the sinner from the torment of hell. He willingly and lovingly shed His blood on the Cross so we can be washed clean of all our sins. The Bible warns there will be no peace in our lives until we make peace with God through His Son, Jesus, the promised Messiah. All Jews in Israel have been waiting for this Messiah because they believe to what God said them in over 300 prophecies about His life and reign in Jerusalem. Jews know about Him, Christians know Him personally and you do not know anything. Conform your life to the laws of the God of Israel and the faith in Him and His Son will write your name in the Book of Life to consider you not as a lover of your cow but a son of God!!! There is a difference between your spiritual leader Ayatollah Khomeini who authorized you to make sex with dogs and cows and our Leader -the Son of God- who forgives such abominations!!!!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
We have life through faith in the Son of God because God "sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins" (I John 4:10). Our heavenly Father gives us eternal life instead of the eternal hell that we deserve because His only begotten Son died in our place for our sins. "For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (II Corinthians 5:21).
"Only begotten"????
What does it mean?
Lets listen to what our brother Sazie Johnson said to Walid Saifaddin Ashour the other day:
O Walid,
What are we to do with you? You are a good man, but hard of understanding. The Word of God is in two-fold or two parts: (1) the Word of God inspired (the Bible), and (2) the Word of God Conceived or Begotten.
The Bible is the Word of God inspired. The word inspire means to be moved by a force outside of oneself to do something. It means to motivate someone to do something or to write something. At times I am inspired by Bahira to write an article so that she can publish on her website. Because I am inspired by her to write an article does not mean the words I write in the article come directly from her. Christians have always maintained that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. For example: Genesis 1:2 reads, And God said, Let there be light. Those are the words of Moses speaking about God. God did not say, And God said, Let there be light. If God said that, we would wonder who is the God of whom He speaks when He say, And God said, Let there be light.
The Word of God is in two-fold or two parts: (1) the Word of God inspired (the Bible), and (2) the Word of God Conceived or Begotten.
You say the Quran is the very spoken words of Allah that came directly from the lips of Allah, himself. The Word of God Begotten (Jesus Christ) is the very spoken Word of God that came directly from the Mouth of God, Himself. Jesus Life, Death, and Resurrection speak to all mankind as if God is telling us how to live our lives, how to die our death, and how He, God, has the power to raise us up in the last Day. You look at Him (Jesus), you look at His Life the way He lived it. It is as if God, Himself, is speaking to you about how you are to conduct your own life. Jesus Christ is the Word of God spoken from the very lips of God.
It is upon the Word of God, Jesus Christ, upon whom Christianity is built. Christianity is not built on the Word of God Inspired (the Bible), but on the Word of God Begotten. You have already said that you have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Word of God Begotten upon which Christianity is founded and built. So what is your problem?
The Word of God is in two-fold or two parts: (1) the Word of God inspired (the Bible), and (2) the Word of God Conceived or Begotten.
I have a lot of damning (ugly, horrible, terrible, revolting) things to say about the Quran, the word of Allah upon which Islam is built. But you have nothing bad to say about Jesus Christ, the Word of God upon which Christianity is built. What is your problem with Christianity?
God is all-wise and all-knowledgeable. His Very Own Word (Jesus Christ) has no fault. Man is foolish and at times his words may be foolish and sinful. In the Bible you have so many people speaking something. Moses spoke, Jonah spoke, Abraham spoke, David spoke, etc. You want to take their words and make it Gods word so that you can feel God about the Quran, the most confused and scientifically incorrect book known to man? There are times when we (Christians) laugh and make fun of some of the things men said in the Bible. But nobody laughs and makes fun of the Word of God Begotten the very firm foundation upon which Christianity stands the very foundation of which you said you cannot speak ill-word. What is your problem?
The Bible is the Word of God inspired. The word inspire means to be moved by a force outside of oneself to do something. It means to motivate someone to do something or to write something. It does not mean because you inspired me to write something make the things I write your very own words that came out of your mouth.
Try to understand Christianity. It will make things a lot easy and better for all of us if we are on the same plane (level). The Bible is the words of man inspired by God. Jesus Christ is the Word of God from the very lips of God, Himself. You find problem with the Bible, the Word of God, which He inspired men to write, we may agree with you. You find problem with the Word of God Conceived or Begotten, the very foundation upon which Christianity stands, we go to war. You say that you have no ill-word to say about the Word of God Conceived or Begotten. Then what is your problem with Christianity?
I have problem with the Quran, the foundation upon which Islam stands.. What is your problem with the Word of God Conceived or Begotten, the foundation upon which Christianity stands?
You cannot speak? Cat gets your tongue? That is what I mean by trying to understand Christianity. It will make things a lot easy and better for all of us if we are on the same plane (level).
O Walid, what are we to do with you? The Word of God is in two-fold or two parts: (1) the Word of God inspired (the Bible), and (2) the Word of God Conceived or Begotten.
The phrase "only begotten" you can meet in the New Testament written in Greek and in the Old Testament written in Hebrew. Lets analyze these words!
The phrase "only begotten" translates the Greek word monogenes. This word is variously translated into English as "only," "one and only," and "only begotten."
So what does monogenes mean? The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind."
So, the Bible said that Jesus was the Son of God, and this word monogenes was used to highlight Jesus as uniquely God's Sonsharing the same divine nature as Godas opposed to believers/Christians who are adopted God's sons and daughters through the faith in Jesus. It means that even we- Christians- could be also begotten through the Gospel.
Paul says: "In Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the Gospel." 1 Corinthians 4:15
There is considerable biblical evidence to support the eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ. There are many passages that clearly identify that it was the Son who created all things. He is the Creator of the universe. It means that Christ was the Son of God at the time of creation!!! God the Father sent the Son into the world to redeem sinful man. It means the Father sent/gave the Son. But the fact is that He was the Son before He was sent into the world. The Son did not become the Son at the moment of His incarnation. The already existing Son of God was made manifest or appeared in order to fulfill Gods predetermined purpose of your salvation. The Bible says in Hebrew 13:8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.
The fact that Jesus divine nature is unchanging would seem to indicate that He was always the Son of God because that is an essential part of His Person. At the incarnation Jesus took on human flesh, but His divine nature did not change, nor did His relationship with the Father.
But why then 2,000 years before the existence of Islam the Father addressed to the Son of God by saying that:
I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potters vessel.
Psalm 2: 7-9
God shared here a conversation with His Son 2,000 years before the existence of Islam.
Why did God use the word today I have begotten you if Jesus existed always?
If He- the Son of God- existed always and was not conceived like men from sperm of men or sex but His human body was created by God not of human sperm, then HOW He- the Word of God -could be begotten?
"I have begotten," is here taken in the sense of manifesting, exhibiting, or declaring.
He was manifested/revealed/declared to the mankind.
Hebrews 1:1-4
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
If He- the Son of God- existed always and was not conceived like men from sperm of men or sex. Most probably His human body was created by God not of human sperm.
Is it possible?
Even our science says that YES.
Researchers at Japan's Tokyo University and South Korea's National University College of Medicine in Seoul have created a mouse born from all-female DNA, without male sperm.
It means that not only some birds and sea creatures but also female mammals can reproduce on their own. With the "female" gene removed, the embryo interpreted the second strand of female DNA as male DNA.
So, if even scientists can do such kind of operations, of course God is able to do that too.
Lets read the context where we read what the Father said to the Son of God:
Psalm 2
The Messiahs Triumph and Kingdom
1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3 Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.
4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potters vessel.
10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
"I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me,
'You are My Son,
Today
I have begotten You.
Psalm 2:7
The essential meaning of the phrase "I have begotten you" is simply this, "I am your Father."
The Jewish word used here rendered "begotten" (ילד yalad) means:
1) to bear, to bring forth as a mother,
2) to beget, as a father, and then
3) The word ילדתי yalidti, "I have begotten," is here taken in the sense of manifesting, exhibiting, or declaring.
Jesus has of course the same divine nature as His Father.
But look what God said here:
John Baptizes Jesus
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
And John tried to prevent Him, saying, I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?
But Jesus answered and said to him, Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allowed Him.
1When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him,
and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying,
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:13-17
Being the Son, He is Heir of all things, and, the Father made the worlds by Him.
Jesus is the brightness of His Father's glory and the express image of His Person.
At Antioch in Pisidia
13 Now when Paul and his party set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia; and John, departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. 14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down. 15 And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen: 17 The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He brought them out of it. 18 Now for a time of about forty years He put up with their ways in the wilderness. 19 And when He had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He distributed their land to them by allotment.
20 After that He gave them judges for about four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. 21 And afterward they asked for a king; so God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will. 23 From this mans seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a SaviorJesus24 after John had first preached, before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And as John was finishing his course, he said, Who do you think I am? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent. 27 For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. 28 And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death. 29 Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb. 30 But God raised Him from the dead. 31 He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. 32 And we declare to you glad tidingsthat promise which was made to the fathers. 33 God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm:
 You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
34 And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus:
I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Therefore He also says in another Psalm:
You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; 37 but He whom God raised up saw no corruption. 38 Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. 40 Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you:
41 Behold, you despisers,
Marvel and perish!
For I work a work in your days,
A work which you will by no means believe,
Though one were to declare it to you.
Acts 13:13-41
Hebrews 1
Gods Supreme Revelation
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
The Son Exalted Above Angels
5 For to which of the angels did He ever say:
 You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You?
And again:
I will be to Him a Father,
And He shall be to Me a Son?
6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:
Let all the angels of God worship Him.
7 And of the angels He says:
 Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.
8 But to the Son He says:
 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
10 And:
You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
12 Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not fail.
13 But to which of the angels has He ever said:
 Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Brothers, let me remind you what I said in the beginning:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
Are you saved by God of your sins through your FAITH in the Son of God or are you still a sinner?!
