The Certainty of God's Promise

When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all agrument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

:applause: can't go no higher than swaring by your own self when making a promise... but then, one can do this when he/she knows that hse/he knows who they are as men and women of their ord.

God has yet to back out on His promise, thats' why I trust Him no mattewr how long it take, and no matter how much I complain and murmur about it taking soooooo long for Him to answer my prayers or fulfill a promise I know He has made to me.

He is a man of His word and is faithful to do what ever He promised He would do, in due season... as He said, if we hold out/endure, not doubt until the end, and keep doing good and faint not... it will come to pass as He has said it would :glow::party:
