The apostle Paul (1:1)

Around AD62, toward the end of Paul's life.

Christians are all members of Jesus "body," the church.

Paul had started the church in Ephesus (Acts 19) and now explains in detail the church members' relationship to Jesus Christ so that they "may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ" (4:15). Through Jesus, God has reconciled both Jews and Gentiles to Himself (2:11-18). This new life should result in pure, honest living in the church and in the home (chapters 4-6). Ephesians

By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. (2:8-9) Ephesians

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (6:11) Ephesians

"In him (Jesus) you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit" (2:22 NIV). Ephesians

I love this word and the reading of Ephesians becasue it has a wealth of blessed assurances for the belivers who take time to read it. I mean, this book is the story of our salvation and gives us information as to why we as the church are united with Jesus Christ.

Paul had to put all he could into this letter to the church in Ephesus, because the Judiazers were really trying to bring their doctrine into the church, trying convience the new converts that they could have both Christ teachings and practice what they had been taught in the laws of Mose and be circumcised and find favor with God.

But Paul put a quick end to all that foolishness real quick with this letter.

Good post!:glow:
