While reading some of these thread I have come to realize that people have huge misconceptions about people who try to live holy and seperate from the world.
We absolutly do not think that our hollieness saves us, thats obserd most of us know better, we know that Jesus paid the price and all we have to do is CHOOSE TO SUBMIT, so that being said let me just tell you why we choose to live a holy life, The number one reason I try to live a Holy life is because God said be ye holy as I am holy, juat because he said so, I just want to please God, another reason is becasue every single one of Gods laws are for our own protection, God does not need us for anything he doesnt need our prayers to know what he need or to know he is might and worthy of praise he knows that, God doesnt need us to be secualy pure that is to keep us from getting hurt you see every time you have sex with someone it forms a chemical bond and when you break from this person the bond breaks and it hurts us God knows this thats why he doesnt want us to be in that situation it keps us from pain, if you follow Gods laws you will be under a hege of protection from emotional pain, embarsement, and many other things. and then there is the scripture that says present your self a living sacrifice HOLY and acceptable to God, being a sacrifice now what does that mean? Well it means to live for him, let every breath you take be for his glory, be a witness with your life, you cant win people to Christ if you live like the devil, if you are out bar hopping and having sex outside marrige, wearing blouses that are all tight and your cleavage is hanging out, then how can you be a witness, We are to be a light shining in the world, why are we to be a light? for one reason I believe is so people will see our light shining and they will want it to, just today my own mother said,"Elisha your light shines so bright" then she said "you are so wise" then she said ":I wish I had your fire" thats my mother speaking!! the one that continualy had to get me out of jail, or come visit me in jail , or bring me undrware and make sure ihad money on my books, the same mother that continuasly tried to help me get a fresh start every time I would get out of jail and try to clean up my act , so thats big words considering, she says she learns from me, and it is my prayer that she will get saved as she is not currantly born again, she does sometimes sparadicly attend church andnow has quit listening to secular music and listens to Jimmy Swaggart instead (his music) I am not patting myself on the back I am giving an example of why we should live a holy life, to win people over, to keep from bringing reproach or shame (same thing) it has nothing to do with trying to look rightouse, or holy or impressing man, it has everything to do with pleaseing God and winning souls...
Your crazy nothing I said says that! all I said is Gods rules and laws are for our protection, example if a woman goes off and has sex with someone she gets attached to him, if they dont get married and he dumps her she is heart broken, however had she not sinned she would not have created that bond with the man, and she wouldnt have a broken heart such is true for all of Gods laws theyu are to either protect us or our "neighbor" you are very deluted, the old testement and the law all though we are not bound by it and it wont send us to hell is still very relevent..
But go ahead and smoke your splif and drink your beer (wasnt it you who said that) I will continue on in my faith (FAITH = OBEDIENCE) you must be one of those that thinks you can live like you want to and still be pleaseing to God, thats a lie from hell you can not keep on in your sin, you must turn from it.. Faith and works go hand in hand if you have REAL faith you will have works in you life the works dont save you the faith does, but if you have faith the works will follow if they dont you do not have real faith! but churches today like to teach that feel good mesage that you can feed your flesh until it turns into a huge flesh monster doing whatever you want and still aslong as you arent killing and molesting children you are saved!! MALARKY its a lie and satan has you right where he wants you, he is using your pride and you flesh to take you down.. but I am afraid when you see I am right it will be too late! I dont know what in the world I possibly said that makes you think I dont trush Jesus I said I do what I do to please him my master because I love him.. and he said he who loves me will keep my comanments, you seemed like a smart guy, but if you cant understand the simpleness of my post you arent as smart as I thought you were
If I please Jesus I please God, dont be a hair splitter Jesus is my God, so is the Father so is the Holy Spirit, they are all God arent you the one Gearg that alwasy quotes the "you believe that God is one verse that sounds so pegan to me???
