CHRISTIAN/CHRISTIANS..? Where in the scripture does it state that?
Posted : 17 Nov, 2011 07:35 PM
Why do you ask me to do something, or say/state something, to please you?
Jesus never said that true believers would be required to say that we were born again, and run around telling others that I was a Christian..
In fact, Jesus, nor Paul, or Peter, or anyone affiliated with the Lord Jesus, ever said that "we are Christians".
There is nothing in the Bible, anywhere, where it states that believers referred to our family as "Christians".
The term "Christian" was a derogatory term which was placed on us by fallen men who knew nothing about our faith..
It is used in the singular twice in the New Testament, and once in the plural. Only three times is it used, and none by the Lord Jesus or any apostle, or anyone.
The word Christian is used only three times in the New Testament, and fallen men took it and ran, creating a false religion around it. Afterwards, many cults began to flourish as a result of this new religion which originated [in Rome] as a result of the Greek texts of letters of our brethren falling into fallen men's hands. We have NEVER referred to ourselves as "a Christian", or "Christians".
"And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." [Acts 11:26]
We were called Christians at Antioch, we did not call ourselves by this term.
King Agrippa tells Paul that he almost persuaded him to be a Christian:
"Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." [Acts 26:28]
Peter is the ONLY one who wrote on the subject. He says that we are to consider it an honor if we "suffer as a Christian!" Peter does not say we are. He say "if you suffer as a Christian!"
"Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf." [I Peter 4:16]
Why would Peter say, "if any man suffer as a CHristian, let him not be ashamed", if we were to think of ourselves as "a Christian"..? Why would it be a shame to be a Christian, if we were?
He was not a Christian, nor was Paul, and I am certainly not!
Paul makes it clear, what we are:
"I endure all things for the sake of the ELECT, that they also shall obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory." [II Tim 2:10]
And as for saying or stating, that I am born again, when any of you locate it in the scripture where it reads that we are to say that we are born again, I will. But until that time I am perfectly content, with being born again.
Plus, I am not here to satisfy you. I am a servant of the Living God, and to Him Alone do I have to give an account.
Saying that I am "born again" would avail nothing, being born again, does!
Some want me to say that I am a "Christian"..?
Hmmm....?
Let me see, which one would they have me to be..?
A Moonie?
A Methodist?
A Seventh Day Adventist?
A Jehovah's Witness?
A Morman?
A Calvinist?
A Catholic?
A Protestant?
A Baptist?
A Pentecostal?
A Lutheran?
A Nazarene?
A Episcopalian?
A Quaker?
A Mennonite?
[Today there are over 32,000 denominations in this false religion!]
Whew.....................
Let's see what Jesus would call me:
"And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his ELECT from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." [Matthew 24:31]

NOTE: I do believe in Jesus Christ, I am just not a Christian.
I am sanctified and do not ascribe to any organized religion..
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." [2 Cor 6:14-18]
I do not believe in the wearing of crosses, having such in my house, Christmas and/or Christmas Trees, Valentine's Day, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, or Halloween.
All are pagan monetary festivals designed by men of cunning to get you to turn over your life force via stupidity, as you run around buying junk for nothing.
We should love each other every day throughout the year. And we should be kindhearted to one another throughout the year.

AWM said: Peter is the ONLY one who wrote on the subject. He says that we are to consider it an honor if we "suffer as a Christian!" Peter does not say we are. He say "if you suffer as a Christian!""Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf." [I Peter 4:16] Why would Peter say, "if any man suffer as a CHristian, let him not be ashamed", if we were to think of ourselves as "a Christian"..? Why would it be a shame to be a Christian, if we were?
ELLA SAYS: If you had an ounce of the wisdom YOU THINK you have and spiritual insights into God's word then you would know and understand what Peter has said here. Peter is saying that it is best to suffer as a CHRISTIAN, rather than as a sinner, and that when a person suffers as a CHRISTIAN he/she should not be ashamed of their suffering because Christ suffered for our sake, and that It is profitable to suffer as a Christian andgive glory to God during and thorugh the suffering.
Peter IS NOT SAYING IT IS A SHAME TO BE A CHRISTIAN, you just have no spiritual insight as to what he is syaing, so you twist what is spoken to make it fit your lack of spiritual knowledge and undertanding of and in God's Word.
The Biblical meaning of Christian is "adherent of Christ"
If you are not a Christian, then I would ask, what are you? Being an elect of who and or of what?
The Greek word for "Christian," is Christianos. This means "follower of Christ; Christian." Being a Christian is to identify ones self with Christ... Either you are follower of Christ or you're not!
Wich would lead me to question your spiritual stability, agenda, and purpose, because what you post is in opposition and condemnation of everythting CHRISTIANS BELIEVE THAT IS GOOD AND WHAT IS WRITTEN IN GOD'S WORD, and is of your OWN lack of spiritual insight and God's wisdom. Which explains why you can't understand the spiritual things of God, because they are spiritually discerned and revealed by the Holy Spirit to THOSE WHO ARE THE TRUE BELIEVERS IN AND OF JESUS CHIRST, and are the TRUE CHRISTIANS... carnal minded defiant people as yourself don't have much spiritual faith or a spiritual conscience, thus, can't understand the spiritual things of God, because you are not connected.
Forver learning but never coming to an understanding, warped in your own conceit and fleshy wisdom!
I recommend you read Romans chapters 10-15, and see if you can find peace and happiness and the joy of the Lord... Your beliefs system is based on your beliefs, so stop trying in your best efforts to put what you believe on those of us who DO NOT BELIEVE AS YOU DO judging and condemning... This is sin!...
I think you would well if YOU examine YOURSELF to see if YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO EVEN BE CALLED ONE OF GOD'S ELECT... You would be surpirsed when God's truth about who you are and who you are not as you THINK you might be is releavled to you, and you find yourself as one who opposes God's truth and as being a rebel without a cause...

ETcallhome writes:
"AWM said: Peter is the ONLY one who wrote on the subject."
A Wise Man did not "SAY" anything!
[ETcallhome stating again, that I "SAID" something..] "He says that we are to consider it an honor if we "suffer as a Christian!"
Again, A Wise Man did not "SAY" anything!
[ETcallhome stating again, that Peter "SAID" something..]"Peter does not say we are. First of all, "ELLA" did not "SAY" anything. "ELLA" could be better comprehended if she were to utilize the term "STATED" or "WROTE", but she has "SAID" nothing.
Peter "SAID" nothing..
I "SAID" nothing!
For one to be so educated, you are really quite ignorant.
You do not understand tense, context, and the relevance of reality, and thus you are now going to try and spin out of what you have "WRITTEN".
You are a splendid example of how man has been dumbed down through the use of archonistic textbooks, which are designed to make you think you know what you are referring to, when you don't really have a clue.
You have been brainwashed, and you do not comprehend very well. You have been educated by men and thus do not properly understand, really, anything about the Word of God, because it is written, "And they SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD!"
You cannot teach me, nor any man, anything, and it is the epitome of arrogance for you to think yourself to be so intellectually brilliant and knowledgeable, and then to try and attack men with it. But, and as it is written, "pride goeth before the fall", as the Father has revealed your obvious lack of comprehension regarding tense and meaning in words.
"As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him." [I John 2:27]
Jesus is the Word, and all of the little children are taught of the Father to be masters of communication, imitating Him.
Now, don't get angry, ask the Father if perhaps He will truly teach you what it is to KNOW something.
He might teach you, and He might not teach you anything; it depends on if it is His Good Pleasure to do so.
"He doeth His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth, and none can stay His hand or say to Him, 'What doest thou?' " [Daniel 4:25]
So, do yourself a huge favor and quit tying into men, you never know when the Father might cut you down in size.

@ AWM and James , James I am sure you are aware of this but I think AWM doesnt realize that wisdom is not the same thing as knowlege! AWM knowing something doesnt mean you have understanding of it, in fact knowing too much can get you into trouble.
I am ignorant but I have understanding from with in!
So awm when you tell my sister ella to ask God to help her to know something that proved you have it screwd up!
Knowing dont mean diddly squat!
It is understanding straight from Heaven that we recieve from the4 Holy Spirit and you obviously dont know anything about that.
and James your right he does need to attend a local church the bible says we are to gather together it dont have to be in a big fancy church.. My little church has a tin roof and cement floors, in the bathrooms there is grass growing through the cracks if I dont pull it up!
But knowing church history osnt neccasary what he needs to know is Jesus Christ as saivor! and to come to an understanding of what salvation really is it isnt a free pass to sin like he thinks

No PJ the reformers and the puritains is what I was talking bout not being needful! that isnt what we need! we need wisdom not knowledege and the begining of wisdom is the fear of the Lord!
