Posted : 19 Nov, 2011 08:48 PM @ ET that is a complex question, I will say when I first got saved at first it was strong feelings and sort of like a new relationship I loved him so strongly. But as I matured as a Christian it changed it was no longer that real strong desire but a mature love that required a choice and a comitment to keep his comandments. Its a lot like be married at first your fire burns hot, but as it grows and matures it turns into something else thats true love a choice to love someone your husband or Jesus, the pricipals are the same and I think is why we are compared a lot to being his bride the marrige between man and woman is modeld after the relation ship between us and Jesus the relationship between us and the Father is modeld after a parent and their child! God does these things as an example, he lets us have the same love for our children that he has for us (on a smaller scale) so we can understand him , same with husband and wife and Us and Jesus the relationships are compared to each other, wifes obey your husbands, Husbands love your wife as Jesus loved the church. My love for Jesus is based on His love for me. He died for my Sins and rose again, that I might have Life through faith in his death and resurrection. Many people like the THOUGHT AND WORDS of saying that they love Jesus, and think that being in love with Jesus is all about a feeling, and there is no true commitment to Him. The FEELING is here today, gone tomorrow. Just as in a marriage or in a relationship of any kind, how many time has a man or a woman said I love you, but there is no true commentment from the heart of sincere love, and next thing you know, the person is saying I love you , but I'm not IN LOVE WITH YOU, and off into another relaytionship[ with another man or woman... or you hear I HAVE FALLEN OUT OF LOVE WITH YOU....uh, what the heck does that mean? How does a person fall in love then fall out of love? There are people who say they love Jesus yet their life-styles speaks a different story. Falling in love with Jesus is NOT a feeling, but a commenmnet based on the love that God has demonstarted toward us through Jesus Chirst, and the suffering sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, and paid for our sins with His love. You would think that a person who think that a person who confesses and prfess being born again and how much he/she loves Jesus would have shame and conmviction in their hearts to even willingfuly sin, knowing the sufferign Jesus had to go thorugh to save us... but even in a man and woman relationship, many don't care about what they put other thoguh, just as long as they have the FEELING AND NOT THE COMMITMENT. Its a good to have a feeling, but its a hard task to be commented... Post Reply
