So George, do we get rid of the days of the week because they are named after pagan gods?

Your name is also a pagan name, if you wanna get technical about the matter, the name George sure can be found in the Bible according to a name God has given:ROFL: So change your name to a biblical name that God has given, and see if you become a better RELIGIOUS PERSON. notice I said RELIGIOUS OERSON, NOT A BETTER RIGHTREOUS PERSON.

Sorry, but Your hypocrisy is equal to that of the Pharisees...

The history of the names of the days of the week is a tangled one. The Greeks named the days of the week after their gods, but when the Romans were supreme, they substituted the names of their favorite gods for the original Greek names. However, with English being a Germanic language, its perhaps no surprise that our current week has several days named after Germanic gods.

Sunday was the day of the sun, whether you were Latin, Greek or Germanic, while Monday was the day of the moon. Tuesday is named after the God of War (who was Mars in Latin and Ares in Greek). However, the English form comes from Tiu/Tiwa, the Germanic/English name of the god of war and the sky.

Wednesday is named after Wodin, the main Teutonic god, who is similar to the Norse god, Odin. In Latinate languages such as French and Spanish, this day is named after the messenger of the gods, Mercury.

Thursday is named after Thor, the Norse god of thunder. In Latinate languages, this day is named after the chief Roman god, Jupiter, who created thunder and lightning.

Friday is named after the Teutonic goddess of love, fertility and beauty, Freya. In Latinate languages, this day is named after the Roman goddess Venus, who had similar responsibilities.

Finally, Saturday is named after the planet Saturn.

Than you ET , it is all about your intention and whats in your heart we celebrate JESUS birth on december 25th all though that day started as a pegan holiday we have turned it into Christian holiday and the bible says all things work togwthwe for good for those who love the Lord! So that means God can take this evil holiday and make it to where its not evil anymore but its good and directed at celebrating our Lord instead of a false god! You ever think of that Georgey???:ROFL::ROFL:

right right Elisha, IF God has ALL POWER IN HIS HANDS, and we foolish dumb Chritsian have set aside aPAGAN day to celebrate His birth of coming into the world to save our souls from sins and shame. SHOOOOOOLY, HE SHOULD HAVE OR OUGHT TO HAVE THE SAME MIGHTY POWER TO TURN OUR CELEBRATING IN HIS HONOR OF HIM INTO SUM'UM GOOOOOD FOR HIS NAME SAKES!:glow::dancingp:

Thanks You are right on!:yay:

Many people rededicate thuer lives to Christ during this time of the year, and many lost souls come to know Christ during this time of the year, realizing that they are lost in their sins, and need a Savior! And we give God the praise, the honor and all the glory due His holy name!:applause::glow:

Yes i had known about the names of the days of the week.

Names have meanings,and value.

Names reveal many things, especially about a person.

A persons name reveals character, attitude, and personality.

The Name of YHWH and the compound names of YHWH reveal His character, attitude and His personality.

In Yeshua 'ALL' of the names of YHWH have been revealed,so that we the Ghoyim woud know Who YHWH is,and to know what He is like.

KJV (bad translation)

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The Literal Translation:

Mat 28:18 And coming up Jesus talked with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me.

Mat 28:19 Then having gone, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

Youngs Literal Translation:

Mat 28:18 And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

Mat 28:19 having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them--to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days--till the full end of the age.'

Does anyone see the translational difference in verse 28.

Look into this to see the difference.

Shalom

Again I have given to you my BIBLICAL position of what I believe.

I have given to you the Scriptures and the meaning,Yet you continue in your UNBELIEF.

Yet it seems obvious that you do not read what i post, which is too bad,for had you been reading my posts you might have learned something by now..

But alas i leave you with this portionof the Word of YHWH.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
