Some just insist those that believe the word of God, are well you know, it need not be said, They will tell you that you just reject the the sovereignity of God, the voice of the intimidator.
First things first we know by the word of God that man is a three part being:
Man is a spirit and with his spirit he contacts, communes with the spirit realm.
Man the spirit has a soul: his mind, will and emotions and with the mind man communicates with the intellect.
Man the spirit has a Body that he lives in that is normally refered to as his flesh, and with his body he contacts this natural realm.
In the fall man's spirit did not die, and cease to exist, his spirit was still alive, the death is defined as the absence of the lord.
Man when he choose to could always respond to the word of God with his spirit just as the word teaches, and the heart of man is interchangable with the word Spirit, and it is the word of God received in the heart of man, and believed with the heart, with prompt obedience that is man's faith,
Man the spirit can hear and talk just like the natual man can, when you study out the parable of the sower you will realize that is what Jesus is teaching that man hears and sees with his heart or spirit.
The end result with action is faith, and this faith is accounted unto man as receiving the rightousness of God.
The part not normally understood in scripture is this the father and the lord Jesus always act in faith, and faith never leaves anyone out, faith and love are not respector's of people.
So the term's that state man is unable in any form to respond to the word of God is never true. The spirit never dies....
To know exactly what the bible mean's by spiritual death, you have to refer to the bible to understand that term.

did you ask them in faith donna? just kidding:ROFL:
it does take God but he knowa and is in control of all things! He is aware who will respond and when! He also must draw men before they can get saved! But in some point in everyones life he will draw them its at that time they can recieve not until then! I know he will draw all men and just like with everything else he has mercey men reject the drawing of the spirit and yet He is Faithful to come back and draw again and again, I know this from my own experiences in life! He will eventualy quit though he will give you your chances if you continue to reject he will give you over as a reprebate! But like the flood God made methuselu live 969 years becasue after he died the flood was going to come! So God let him live a long long time becasue he is merciful and didnt want to destroy his creation who chose to rebel against him! Over and over again God gave his people chances and they rejected him! Its in the Bible from cover to cover

James replies:
Christians have been saying this for over a thousand years PJ.
1 Corinthians 2:14
English Standard Version (ESV)
14The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is NOT ABLE to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
NOT ABLE......
Jesus told Nicodemus that a man COULD NOT "see" or "enter" the kingdom of God UNLESS they were FIRST "Born again".
Jesus also said what Paul said above in 1 Cor. 2:14
Joh 14:17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world CANNOT receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Got that PJ? "CANNOT......."
Jesus said TWICE in John 6:
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
The Bible CLEARLY TEACHES that fallen, natural man is UNABLE to repent and trust in Jesus, and that it TAKES GOD to save a man.

From the Old and the New Testament Accounts of People Who Were Physically DEAD AND WITH A SPOKE WORD From Jesus or the Prophets WERE Raised from the Dead...GO READ!
Luke 7:22: So Jesus replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, THE DEAD ARE RAISED, and the good news is preached to the poor.
1. Elijah raised the son of the Zarephath widow from the dead (1 Kings 17:17-22).17 Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing. 18 She said to Elijah, What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son? 19 Give me your son, Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed. 20 Then he cried out to the LORD, LORD my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die? 21 Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the LORD, LORD my God, let this boys life return to him! The LORD heard Elijahs cry, and the boys life returned to him, and he lived. 23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, Look, your son is alive! 24. Then the woman said to Elijah, Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth.
2. Elisha raised the son of the Shunammite woman from the dead (2 Kings 4:32-35).32 When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. 33 He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD. 34 Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boys body grew warm. 35 Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes. 36 Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, Call the Shunammite. And he did. When she came, he said, Take your son. 37 She came in, fell at his feet and bowed to the ground. Then she took her son and went out.
3. A man was raised from the dead when his body touched Elishas bones (2 Kings 13:20, 21).20 Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. 21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the mans body into Elishas tomb. When the body touched Elishas bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
4. Many saints rose from the dead at the resurrection of Jesus (Matt. 27:50-53).
5. Jesus rose from the dead (Matt. 28:5-8; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:5, 6).
6. Jesus raised the son of the widow of Nain from the dead (Luke 7:11-15).11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. 12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried outthe only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, Dont cry. 14 Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. JESUS SPOKE SAYING, Young man, I say to you, get up! 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
7. Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead (Luke 8:41, 42, 49-55).51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the childs father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. Stop wailing, Jesus said. She is not dead but asleep. 53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, My child, get up! 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
8. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44).
9. Peter raised Dorcas from the dead (Acts 9:36-41). 36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, Please come at once! 39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40. Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, Tabitha, get up. She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
10. Eutychus was raised from the dead by Paul (Acts 20:9, 10).9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. Dont be alarmed, he said. Hes alive! 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.

PJ said:
"some say dead man can not hear, can not respond to the Word of God."
James That scripture say's the same thing it has every time you have been answered with the statement you mentioned concerning1st Cor 2:14 of course the natural man can not receive from God, I have always said that.
There seems to be this pattern, those have that given them self the justification to interpret the word of God have, they twist scripture to fit ther doctrine.
Man is not just a natural man, he is and has always been a spirit being first, that has a soul and body
1st Cor 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Notice James those that act just as you have with that scripture many times Paul referred to as carnal and that is at enmity with the father, hatred is the meaning of enmity.
Jesus told Nicodemus that a man COULD NOT "see" or "enter" the kingdom of God UNLESS they were FIRST "Born again".
James this scripture has nothing to do with what you project either, btw you might wanna take that discussion up with Enoch.
All man are responsible for every vain word.
Jesus also said what Paul said above in 1 Cor. 2:14
Joh 14:17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world CANNOT receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Well James maybe you forgot to meditate on this passage, remember the natural man can not receive anything form the lord.
When Jesus spoke that to his disciples they where not born again, and this passage is not referring to the new birth, this promise is to the church subsequent to the new birth.
Got that PJ? "CANNOT......."
Jesus said TWICE in John 6:
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
James you always leave out verse 45:
Jn 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
James that is not a doctrine of the church, that is a verse that you use to imply selective redemption.
Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.
Rightly divide the word of God is the instruction to all.
The Bible CLEARLY TEACHES that fallen, natural man is UNABLE to repent and trust in Jesus, and that it TAKES GOD to save a man.
This was already answered earlier James the same truth, and we know the bible does not say man can not repent, that is a teaching of reformation theology, we have the bible as our source of reference.
No one says that when they respond to the word of God as directed that they are saving themselves, that is just another intimidation tactic of Calvinist.
In Christ,
A man in christ should never have such a response, for it is impossible for the lord to LIE, nor would his anointing led a man to lie.
