Hello everyone:

Maybe at some point in a persons life as a believer in Yehsua, they might here someone s[eaking about discipleship,

or even discipling others.

When someone speaks about discipleship they usually talk of living a disciplined life.

This consists of bringing people under a set of rules and regulations.

Some of these rules and regulations could be as these.

You should not drink alcoholic drinks.

You should not smoke cigarettes, this includes, weed, crack,or anything else smoked and inhaled.

No television

No dancing

No kissing

No holding hands

Only wearing clothes as becoming modest.

WHich means no jeans

No ripped clothing,and no jewelry.

My question is this.

Did Yeshua give His life to set me free from the law of sin and death, just to bring me back into bondage of man made rules and regulations.

Or did Yeshua give His life to set me completely free from bondage to sin,and rules and regulations by which to live.

The Greek word for the English word 'DISCIPLE' does not mean to be living a Disciplined life,as by keeping rules and regulations.

Here is the Greek word for Disciple.

English-Disciple

Greek-mathētēs

G3101

μαθητής

mathētēs

A Related Word by Thayers/Strongs Number: from G3129

3101 mathētḗs (from math-, the "mental effort needed to think something through") properly, a learner; a disciple, a follower of Christ who learns the doctrines of Scripture and the lifestyle they require; someone catechized with proper instruction from the Bible with its necessary follow-through (life-applications). See also 3100 /mathēteō ("to disciple").

Scripture concerning this:

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Joh_8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Are we living FREELY or in bondage.

Shalom

It is the doer of The word that is free, for it is the revealtion of the truth in your heart and that you continue to be a doer of that brings freedom to the believe, those that indulge of self willed interpretion of the word of God will never know God, consequently not knowing the word of God.

no no no, Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law but to fullfill it! We are still required to live a disciplined holy life, but if you are truly born again it is not a burden! Thats where you always get it wrong george, living a life free from sin is what makes the yoke light and the burden easy, it is sin that ways us down and Jesus has gicin himself so that we can live his life not our own, I am crucified with christ never the less I live yet not I but Christ lives within me! you see we live his life we take on his mind and we hate sin therefor we dont sin! Its not a free pas to live in sin! Living a sin free life is so much a lighter burden than living the life of sin, the fact that you dont own this truth in your heart should make you question your salvation george and it worrys me, what you have implied here is backwards and it seems that you think this scripture means Jesus is saying go ahead live like your flesh wants to becasue there will be no punishment, on the contrary it means the exact opposit, what it means is he will give us the power to be free from sin and therefor be free from the punishment as he gave himself as the sacrifice not so we could turn around and live and waller in the things he sufferd and died to save us from but so that we could be forgiven of our past sin before we were saved and then be regenerated to a sin free life, no where does it say go run sin all you wnt cause you wont pay for it! In fact the things just in this life that are the consiquences of sin are what makes sin a heavy burden, so if we live a sin free life we then are free from that burden and thats what he means

A person who has a personal relationship with Jesus.

He is saved by the grace of God and puts all his trust

in Christ as his personal savior. He studies the word of God and is a doer of the Word of God.

Jeremiah 29: 13

Seek the the Lord with all your heart

Isaiah 55:6-7

Let the wicked forsake his way

To elisha:

Are you 'SINLESS'

In this life will you ever be 'SINLESS'

Are you 'TRYING' to perfect yourself in this life,or are you trusting that Yeshua is perfect, and that He is perfect before YHWH on your behalf.

Arminian thinking puts a yoke of bondage to rules and regulations by which to be living in order to become righteous, holy, and sanctified.

To be righteous, holy, and sanctified apart from trusting in the RIGHTEOUSNESS,HOLINESS,and SANCTIFICATION of Yeshua being IMPUTED to you,

This then is works rigtheousness.

Yet,IF a person is trusting Yeshua to have Justified them,

And is trusting Yeshua to being Righteous,Holy and Sanctified before YHWH on their behalf;

This truly is Faithing into Yeshua.

This is Salvation by Grace through faith.

Shalom

No George that is not correct, all that are walking in the light of the word are free of Sin, know if you are talking of what goes on in this forum most of it is sin.
