Pride is a terrible thing and we must ask God to help us keep our pride in check, I want to adress and admit something to everyone! At the risk of some I know most certainly will take this and run with it I am going to share with everyone anyway!
WhenI first came on this forum I had never even heard the term calvinist , I had heard reformers and predestination but I did not really know what they believed!I have went to the same church al of my life near about until I moved up hear and now I attend a church that is under the leadership of the church I grew up in! So ther was never any need for such talk! So when I started hearing some of the things that James (mostly James but Donna too) I will admit I wanted to hear more, I wanted to know the real truth and I opend my mind somewhat to try to understand and truly find out what the truth was, I asked God to humble me, to help me to never ever think I am so smart that I can not learn or be so proud as to think that I know all the answers and I cant learn from someone else who may now something I dont! I truly prayed about it talked with my pastor and my Daddy about it! I have read and read I have read scripture after scripture and article after aritcle! But still there was question there. "could all really mean some of all?'' Could the "world" mean some from all over the world? anyway I prayed and prayed about the matter I asked questions and tried to state what I believed to be true so that someone would tell me what they thought about what I believed! I will admit ther are a lot of things that I agrre with James and Donna about! Like the fact tht man will not and can not come to the Lord until it his time to and that is when God puts that drawing on them and I have felt that drawing so stronly in my life it was strong ALMOST irreseitable, but I could have resisted! Anyway I think that God draws people to him anyway and that he knows already who will and who wil not respond! But I still think he gives all men a chance becasue he is just! (off my point)
Anyway here is m point!!!
I truly want to know what the truth is I do not care if I have believed wrong all my life and would have to swallow my pride and admit I was wrong, when I first started looking into this a little bit I would have been willing to admit I was wrong and change the way I saw it I really dug into this in my prayer and reading time, I also looked up articles and talked to people anyway I came to the conclision after having an open mind to what ever the truth was if I had been wrong all along or whatever I saw that calvinism is a false doctrine and the way i saw it for what is was , was mostly through the scriptures that James and new guy would post to prove calvinism! Everytime they would post scripture that suposedly proved it I would quitly dig into it check it out read the context and study it, and everytime I did that I would find how terribly wrong their interpretaion of the scripture was, sometimes it was clear right off the bat and sometimes I would have to dig, But I honsetly wanted to know the truth , and if you love the truth and want to know the turh then God will not leave you in the dark! I love the truth no matter what it is, if it is in disagreement with what I believe then I must change what I believe! But I will admit there for a little while i was really questioning whether or not they were right and I was wrong!
Personaly I dont think it matters which one of us is right , it is not detrimental to salvation to have this knowlege
I am praying every day for the Lord to keep me humble enough that I can learn from others and that i dont ever get so full of knowlege and my own high mindedness that I can see the truth

I admire your desire to know truth despite if you have to admit you've been wrong. I hope and pray that is my attitude as well as I have certainly changed my theology/beliefs as I've matured.
I never want to dismiss God's truths because they don't line up with my thoughts on how God should be or act. That would put me above Him which is a scary and sinful place to be.
All the great doctrines of our Lord don't make perfect sense to our finite minds.
Who can fully grasp that God is three yet one? That doesn't make sense to the human mind, but do you believe it? Yes, because it is written and you accept it by faith.
Who can fully understand that Christ is 100% God and 100% man at the same time? Surely not us, but do we believe that? Absolutely with all our hearts because it is written and we accept it by faith.
How about who lives your Christian faith, is it you or Christ in you? Well....that's a tough one with all the commandments we are given to follow yet Paul says it is no longer I who live, but Christ in me-Gal 2:20.
We take all of these marvelous truths as absolute truth because our Lord has said so even if they don't make perfect sense to us. We walk by faith and I praise Him for His gift of opening my eyes and ears to receive it.

Amen sister! God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humbe!
James 4:6. how i pray that God will always instill humility in our hearts every day of our lives. so that he might lift us up by his grace ( James 4:10):peace:
