Considering the Spiritual leaders hAve been mentioned here: Heb. 13: 7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

The verses you referred to would have to be leaders as in government. Because they hAve to give n ccount for punishing.

15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

WhAt do you think?

What is the clue to a believer in this response, what exposes the unbelief?

ME: It is a believer WITH THE MIND OF CHRIST (1 Cor. 2:16) responding to a misinterpreted verse after having rightly divided the word of truth WITH REASONING, Dr. Phil.

You should try it. It is Scriptural and a COSTANT APPLICATION IN OUR LIVES AS FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST.

Sounds as if the topic writer is upset at someone for showing him his own folly as the Scriptures say to do in Proverbs 26:4-5.

Pro 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Pro 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Love those verses, by the way. They are my life verses. :hearts:

Proverbs is a collection of wise saying that were recorded, Elisha. Some were accredited to Solomon and some to others. It is not part of the Requirements of the Law of Moses, dear.

I love your zeal sister. :hearts:

May the Lord Jesus Christ keep on giving you more yearning to know Him and His Word.

Nor is tithing, a simple requirement for children of the covenant

ME: You Jewish, PJ, Cause Jews are bound to keep the tithe LAW if you are a child of the covenant.

Here is Scripture to prove it.

Twenty percent yearly and 10 percent every three years equals 23.3 percent per year. God commanded all three tithes (Nehemiah 12:44; Malachi 3:8-12; Hebrews 7:5).

1. A tithe of the produce of the land to support the Levites who had no inheritance in Canaan.

Leviticus 27:30-34 "Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the LORD's; it is holy to the LORD. 31 If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it. 32 And every tithe of herds and flocks, every tenth animal of all that pass under the herdsman's staff, shall be holy to the LORD. 33 One shall not differentiate between good or bad, neither shall he make a substitute for it; and if he does substitute for it, then both it and the substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed." 34 These are the commandments that the LORD commanded Moses for the people of Israel on Mount Sinai.

Numbers 18:20-31

Num 18:20 And the LORD said to Aaron, "You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.

Num 18:21 "To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service that they do, their service in the tent of meeting,

Num 18:22 so that the people of Israel do not come near the tent of meeting, lest they bear sin and die.

Num 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tent of meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, and among the people of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

Num 18:24 For the tithe of the people of Israel, which they present as a contribution to the LORD, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance. Therefore I have said of them that they shall have no inheritance among the people of Israel."

Num 18:25 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

Num 18:26 "Moreover, you shall speak and say to the Levites, 'When you take from the people of Israel the tithe that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall present a contribution from it to the LORD, a tithe of the tithe.

Num 18:27 And your contribution shall be counted to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.

Num 18:28 So you shall also present a contribution to the LORD from all your tithes, which you receive from the people of Israel. And from it you shall give the LORD's contribution to Aaron the priest.

Num 18:29 Out of all the gifts to you, you shall present every contribution due to the LORD; from each its best part is to be dedicated.'

Num 18:30 Therefore you shall say to them, 'When you have offered from it the best of it, then the rest shall be counted to the Levites as produce of the threshing floor, and as produce of the winepress.

Num 18:31 And you may eat it in any place, you and your households, for it is your reward in return for your service in the tent of meeting.

2. A tithe of the produce of the land to sponsor religious festivals in Jerusalem. If the produce was too burdensome for a family to carry to Jerusalem, they could convert it into money.'

Deuteronomy 14:22-27. This is sometimes called the festival tithe."

Deu 14:22 "You shall tithe all the yield of your seed that comes from the field year by year.

Deu 14:23 And before the LORD your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

Deu 14:24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the LORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God chooses, to set his name there,

Deu 14:25 then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the LORD your God chooses

Deu 14:26 and spend the money for whatever you desire--oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household.

Deu 14:27 And you shall not neglect the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.

3. A tithe of the produce of the land collected every third year for the local Levites, orphans, strangers, and widows.'

Deuteronomy 14:28-29

Deu 14:28 "At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns.

Deu 14:29 And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.

Deuteronomy 26:12-13

Deu 26:12 "When you have finished paying all the tithe of your produce in the third year, which is the year of tithing, giving it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your towns and be filled,

Deu 26:13 then you shall say before the LORD your God, 'I have removed the sacred portion out of my house, and moreover, I have given it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all your commandment that you have commanded me. I have not transgressed any of your commandments, nor have I forgotten them.

Now, PJ, if you are a child of this covenant then you are to give TWENTY-THREE PERCENT EVERY WEEK, brother, cause there is no 10% tithe that a Christian has to pay anywhere in Scripture showing it. . Looks like you OWE God some serious cash, bro. Better stop the naming and claiming of things until you catch up on your payments, my brotha.
