In the course of learning more about the book "Pagan Christianity" I ran across a very thorough chapter by chapter review on it and also on Frank Violas other book "Reimaging Church". The and then I found a back and fourth between the author of the book, the author of the review and reviews of the review. All the discourse was between noted scholars. It is really an interesting and informing read. Including the comment sections where they continue their dialog.
I am hesitant to judge the believer fully until I read his book, or books based on what others say because that would be unChrist like of me, but I thought that someone might find this interesting also.
I am posting what I found for those who are interested not only in the books but you will also find some great historical information on the early churches, practices and traditions and where scholars disagree.

Also: I found a counter to Dr. Witherington's review of Pagan Christianity by a Dr. Zen who endorsed the book. I haven't read it yet but I offer it as well if you choose to do more research:
