Question: If most protestants look to Martin Luther because he challenged...

the institutional church of his day because it wasn't scriptural enough, then do you think that later protestants will look to the one who further changes this institutional church as a hero also in the future?

I mean do you think that Luther would have a chance to try and change anything withing the traditions of the church if he came now?

I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on the subject. Thanks in advance.

James replies:

IT wasn't that the church of Rome was not "scriptural enough", it was that they were grossly contradicting the Bible at many points, including the main point which is HOW is a person made right with God.

I am guessing you are asking if another person in the Roman Catholic church would challenge the Roman Catholic church to change, would protestants look at that person as a hero?

Well, if the Reformer was asking for Biblical changes then yes.

If you are asking if a Christian tried to Reform the Protestant churches would they be looked upon as a hero?

Well, IF the Reformer was being Biblical, then at least SOME of the Christians would look at them as a hero.

For instance, if a Reformed believer challenged all the Arminian churches to leave Arminianism and embrace the sovereignty of God in Salvation, then we Reformed believers would CERTAINLY look at that Christian as a hero!

James replies:

Well, since I believe that Luther is in Heaven with God and a perfected nature, I would have to say Yes, because NOW Luther's theology is perfect, and ours is not.

In Christ,

James

Yes, I believe that when a Christian dies, they immediately go to be with God in Heaven.

They do not have a physical body, because they get that when Jesus returns, but they are conscious, and perfected in nature.

So, yes, I believe that Luther knows and understands God perfectly now because he is with God in Heaven.

In Christ,

James
