Bible Verses about Supporting Church Leaders and Pastors

1 Timothy 5:17-18 (New International Version)

17The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. 18For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,"[a] and "The worker deserves his wages."

Galatians 6:6 (New International Version)

6Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.

Luke 10:7 (New International Version)

7Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

What Does the Bible Say About Church Attendance?

1 Corinthians 9:4-14 (New International Version)

4Don't we have the right to food and drink? 5Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas? 6Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living?

7Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? 8Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? 9For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain."Is it about oxen that God is concerned? 10Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. 11If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? 12If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more?

But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. 13Don't you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? 14In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

I hope these Bible verses helped you to understand more on the topic of supporting and paying church leaders and pastors. Thanks for reading.

"Holy Spirit" lead people in All Truths.

Without that, People have no inlightment to the Truth.

It is Great to post the Scriptures, However, people have to except the Word by Faith.

Unfortunately, Only God can do that for them.

These verses are in the Bible,

but sometimes are misunderstood, by both, elders and givers.

we must take the whole understanding of the Bible.

For those who are seeking the kingdom of God, they will recieve what they need, from any means the Lord proivide.

but these verses doesn't mean for elders to make a bussines of the gospel or to get rich from the gospel

1 Peter 5:1-3

"Therefore the elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a 5partaker of the cglory to be revealed:

Shepherd the flock of God among you, coverseeing not under compulsion but dwillingly, according to God; NOT BY SEEKING GAIN TROUGH BASE means but eagerly;

Nor as alording it over your allotments but by becoming patterns of the flock."

PAUL also directed some words to the elders in the ACTS book:

Acts 20:17 says he "called for the aelders of the church."

"And when they came to him, he said to them, You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, bhow I was with you all the time,

Serving the Lord as a slave with all humility and tears and trials which came upon me by the eplots of the Jews;

How I did not withhold any of those things that are profitable by not declaring them to you and by not teaching you publicly and from house to house"

later in verse 28:

"Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has placed you as overseers to shepherd the church of God, which He obtained through His own blood."

verses 33-35:

"I have acoveted no one's silver or gold or clothing.

You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my needs and to those who are with me.

In all things I have shown you by example that atoiling in this way we ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."

This words were given by apostle paul the the Church elders, but sometimes, church leaders use them backwards.

Paul himsef was an example of working to cover other brothers in need.

He did not accepted oferings from Churches when he could work, but he accepted offerings when he was unable to work

(in jail)

Phillipians 4:10-14

"But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly because now at length you have caused your thinking for me to blossom anew; for which matter you had indeed taken thought, but lacked opportunity.

Not that I speak according to lack, for I have learned, in whatever circumstances I am, to be content.

I know also how to be based, and I know how to abound; in everything and in all things have learned the secret both to be filled and to hunger, both to abound and to black.

I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me."

These words are not meant to contradict the other verses from the sister, but to clarify, that helping the leders doesn't mean to enrich them, and the elders also have duty to help and not just to recieve.

one thing is not being able to work and recive from the lord trough the church

other thing is not wanting to work, in hopes of getting economically sussesfull trough offerings,

which apostle paul spoken against:

2 Tesalonians 3:7-12

"For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not disorderly among you;

Nor did we eat bread as a gift from anyone, but in labor and hardship webworked night and day so that we would not be burdensome to any of you;

Not because we do not have the right, but in order that we might give ourselves to you as a pattern that you might imitate us.

For even when we were with you, we gave you this charge, that if anyone does not want to work, neither should he eat.

For we hear of some walking among you adisorderly, doing no work at all, but being busybodies.

Now such ones we charge and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work with quietness and eat their own bread."

BLESSINGS FROM THE LORD.
