Hebrews 13: 13: Go to Him Without the Camp

Hebrews 10: 25 says "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

But Hebrews 13: 12-14 says "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

13. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

14. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come."

Hebrews 13: 13 tells us to go to Christ who is without the camp. The key question then is what does the camp represent? The camp is the 501c(3) Internal Revenue Service Incorporated churches. It is the institutional church, the Catholic Church which claimed to replace Israel, or the dispensationalist church which claims to exist as a lesser Body of Christ alongside physical Israel. It is also the Calvinist church and several other denominational and institutionalized 501c(3) church corporations.

The camp is religion, tradition of men, man-made theology, man's doctrines, the outward form of religion, the whited sepculchres (Matthew 23: 27), scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, and the pride of life (I John 2: 16). The camp became a place where people who operate in the flesh pretend to operate in the Spirit. Flesh is the sarx, the human body. But by implication is it human nature, the carnal mind, the self run by desires, feelings and pride.

Another metaphor in the New Testament is the wilderness of Revelation 12: 6 and 12: 14, where the woman, who gives birth to the manchild and the remnant, is nourished and protected from the serpent. The wilderness, like the camp of Hebrews 13: 13, is outside of institutionalized religion.

Scripture does not contradict scripture. When we put Hebrews 10: 25 and Hebrews 13: 13 together. we should not get a contradiction, one saying to go to church and the other saying to assemble ourselves outside of the institutionalized church. We should assemble ourselves together outside the church.
