What does it mean to be a disciple?

Hi all! I was wondering what you all thought it really means to be a disciple? What does it really look like? What does that word actually mean to you? I've been mulling over this recently as the bible says to go out and make disciples rather than 'go out and make someone say a sinner's prayer and that's it'. So what does it look like practically to you? What does it mean to disciple someone? What does it mean to be a disciple?

(It's not as deep as some of the other questions on here! But I'd love to get some views on this - bible quotes very welcome!)

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

Being a disciple means coming along side a younger women and helping and encouraging her live a Godly life as shown to us through God's word. To read God's word and pray with her and learning God's way to live.

As in Titus 2 i am called to be reverent, teaching what is good, being sensible, kind, not given to much wine, not being a gossip.

Being a disciple does not mean to be living a DISCIPLINED life.

Being a disciple of Yeshua is to being a LEARNER of Yeshua, knowing who Yeshua is,and to know what He is like.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Mat 10:24 A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a slave above his lord.

Mat 10:25 It is enough for the disciple to become as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If they called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household?

What does it mean to be a disciple?

First you start with the Sinners prayer!

When you except Jesus and you get "born again" then is when the Discipleship starts. Growing in the Knowledge

of Christ Jesus and having a personal relationship with

him. Fail not to assemble yourself with other Believers.

Get under good "Holy Spirit" leadership.

You can not discple anyone unless you are "Saved" and lead by the Holy Spirit within Yourself.
