Do you trust God in the midst of your struggles?
Posted : 3 Feb, 2012 10:07 AM

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Notice the phrase in our text, to those who love God. Do you love God? To love God is to desire God, to treasure God, to delight in God, to be satisfied with God, to cherish God, to reverence God, to obey God, and to admire God above all things. Love for God means that you stand in awe of Him as the One who created and redeemed you by His wondrous grace. To love God also means that youre a person who repents of your sins and desires to please God in ALL your thoughts, words and deeds. Is this your desire? The promise of Scripture to those who love God is that every event, every moment, every circumstance, good and evil, pleasant and difficult, joyful and grievous, is sent by God to bring His glory and our good. And not only good things but evil things, hard things, things which reduce us to tears and break us downall these things work together for our good! Thats Gods amazing promise to those who love Him. But the question is this, do you love God? Do you trust Him in the midst of your struggles? Do you know that all things work together for your good? Our God knows what Hes doing. Hes worthy of our trust; even when everything around us looks hopeless we still have hope in God (Psalm 46). All things are instruments in Gods hand to mold, shape, prepare and fit every believer as vessel for His praise and glory. All things are being sent by God into our lives as believers not to destroy us, but in order that we might shine brilliantly in the knowledge of Him as our God and Savior. Do you believe this? If so, then never doubt that all things are working together for your good right now, and shall continue to work for your good in the future. You have Gods Word on it, and its impossible for God to lie (Heb. 6:18). Therefore, boldly live the Christian life by faithfully serving God, and never say when great trials come upon you that God doesnt love you or care about you. Never say as Jacob did that all these things are against me! (Gen. 42:36). Remember the promise of Scripture: If God is for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). Remember the promise of our text: And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Amen!

In Christ,

Pastor S. Henry
