Paul defends his ministry to the troubled Corinthian church.

2 Corinthians

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the Faith; prove your own selves. 2 Cor. 13:5

Christians should respect authority, whether in the Church, the Home, or Society at large.

Hey Angel,

I was thinking of the Corinthian church as I was reading about Paul's warning to the Galatian church.

Paul decries this attitude of their seeking preeminence or status over one another by noting that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (2:5). And in the next instance the apostle condemns this jealousy which is destructive to the cause of Christ.

What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Ministers through whom you believed: and each as the Lord gave to him. I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planted anything, neither he that watered; but God gives the increase (3:5-6).

The glory should always be to God. Each mans work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each mans work of what sort it is (3:13).

New International Version (NIV)

3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpents cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 2Cor11:3-4

This is all stemming from Angel's rebellious Jezebel spirit and will rightly be shown and linked to the original topic.

Angelforlove Posted a topic titled "Preach the Word ! 2 Timothy 4:2 on10 Feb, 2012 05:13 PM with:

We are not saved only to be instruments for God, but to be His sons and daughters. As His disciples, our lives must be a Holy example of the reality of our message.

Even the natural heart of the unsaved will serve if called upon to do so, but it takes a heart broken by Conviction of Sin, Baptized by the "Holy Spirit", and crushed into Submission to God's purpose to make a person's life a Holy example of God's message.

MY RESPONSE: What do you think that the eunuch represented in any of your last statement?

Act 8:27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship

Act 8:28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.

Act 8:29 And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go over and join this chariot."

Act 8:30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?"

Act 8:31 And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Act 8:32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this: "Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth.

Act 8:33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth."

Act 8:34 And the eunuch said to Philip, "About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?"

Act 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.

Act 8:36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?"

Act 8:37 [And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]

Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

Thanks for your response in advance, sister.

Angel's response: When we are saved, God calls us to live a Holy life

in every area.

I think you missed the Point agapeton.

ET Chimes in: The passages you posted Agapeton, of the eunuch demonstrated as we find throughout God's Word, and especially in throughout the book of Acts that fiath precedes baptism.

Upon hearing the gospel explained to the eunuch, the eunuch submitted to the truth of what Philip told him about Jesus Christ, had a confession of his faith, and THEN he was baptized, as we are taught in God's word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the gospel first, then submission to that faith by believing, and confession with oour mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ, then baptism.

Being an Ethiopian EUNUCH had nothing to do with his faith or submission to the gospel, he believed what he heard and submitted to the truth of what he heard and was saved.

ET Posts again: I forgot to say, The Ethiopian was an eunuch BEFORE he heard the gospel, because of his either sect religious beliefs, or his own doing, or he was born an eunuch, we are not not told this when or how he became an eunuch, but it had nothing to do with his faith to believe in Jesus.

Also, God also demonstrated to the Jews that the Gentiles were also gven the same gift of the Holy Spirit as they were, and the eunuch and Cornielus are the perfect examples in the book of Acts that God did ot show any favoritism between the Jews and the Gentiles.

So by the eunuch receiving the gospel it showed that the gospel being preached was also given to ALL, EVERYONE who hear and believes and submits and receives and is baptized according to God's word.

This also demonstarts that those called into ministry by God to be pastors and evengelists, and prophets and teachers as stated in Ephesian 4, must do as God has so ordained in the church, equpi the saints afro the works of the ministry, and preach and teach the gospel to the lost.

For it is written in Romans 10: As Scripture says, Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentilethe same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

16 But not all the Israelites(or the unsaved) accepted the good news (gospel). For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message? Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: Their voice (speaking about the prophets and those God called to preach and teach HIs Word) has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.

20 And Isaiah boldly says, I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me. But concerning Israel he says, All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.]

Angel:Amen, Ella

MY RESPONSE: Whether he was eunuch or not wasn't the case or question for that matter. I asked in light of Angel's statement whether his being told of Jesus' coming (and not being taught the gospel) and just asking to be baptized in water fit anything of what she said.

Why is it that you people keep seeing everything and anything EXCEPT the simplicity of what the question asks in this forum?

What is it?

Selective reading or just a dire need of new prescription glasses?

Angel: @Agapeton

You get saved first before any baptized.

Why do you ask Question like you do????

Pray and ask God for Clarity of the Scriptures.

Seems though you have something Lacking, brother.

ME: Honestly sister, one who sees lacking is lacking in ones self. As it is written: as a man thinks so is he.....

Now, The reason why I asked the question ansd showed the text was to SHOW YOU THAT WHAT YOU STATED WAS NOT TRUE in light of the Ethiopian.

You said:" but it takes a heart broken by Conviction of Sin, Baptized by the "Holy Spirit", and crushed into Submission to God's purpose to make a person's life a Holy example of God's message."

And I showed you that according to the Scripture all that the Ethiopian did after he was told of Christ's coming was to get in water and that was it.

Act 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.

Act 8:36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?"

Act 8:37 And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

So, what about the Ethiopian showed that he was "Holy Spirit' Baptized, convicted of sin, crushed into Submission to God's purpose to make his life a Holy example of God's message," sister?

Any thoughts to reconcile your statement with the Word of God, oh unlacking one?

ET's OTHER ERROR: Angel, be obedient to God's counsel Proverb 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

The scripture makes it very plain that the eunuch had come to Jerusalem to WORSHIP, which is an indication that he already knew about God and was a worshipper, he just had not received the Holy Spirit. This is why the Holy Spirit instructed Philip to go to him.

Its not necessay we know about his conversion process, and God did not tell us when or how and where, or what took place, because this is not the spiritual point of the passage but it is the focus agreement with what you have posted... being submissives to receive God's word of Truth by faith to believe, and resistance to the truth because of doubt seeking one own will and self righteousness instead of God's will and His righteousness... and when a person is broken they come to submission and repentance and will prove themseves as servants of the Lord...as was the case with the eunuch.

Angel, What great counsel to heed - Proverb 26:4-5. Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, and he will be wise in his own conceit.

In other words, God recommends silence as the best answer to a fool.

ET AGAIN: Acts 8:26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, Go south to the roadthe desert roadthat goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means queen of the Ethiopians). This man had gone to Jerusalem to WORSHIP, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot READING the Book of Isaiah the prophet. The Spirit told Philip, Go to that chariot and stay near it.

ANGEL:

ME: Honestly sister, one who sees lacking is lacking in ones self. As it is written: as a man thinks so is he.....

Now, The reason why I asked the question ansd showed the text was to SHOW YOU THAT WHAT YOU STATED WAS NOT TRUE in light of the Ethiopian.

What you started had nothing to do with with my original post. You like to Argue Bible. You look for Fault in the Holy Scripture, So How do you think! Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you brother, because You sure do not respond to scriptures like a man under the leading of Jesus' Spirit.

MY RESPONSE TO BOTH: ET POSTED: Angel, be obedient to God's counsel Proverb 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

ME: Thanks, ET, for telling Angel to be obedient to this verse because I posted it earlier in hopes of the Lord being glorified by His unfailing faithfulness to His children and to always confirm his Word as truth at all times and and a given moment for his purpose. I will explain why I put it in my earlier statement in the following sentences. So please bear with me.

ET: The scripture makes it very plain that the eunuch had come to Jerusalem to WORSHIP, which is an indication that he already knew about God and was a worshipper, he just had not received the Holy Spirit. This is why the Holy Spirit instructed Philip to go to him.

ME: Actually sister, whether the Ethiopian was a "God Fearer ( A Gentile believer who didn't become a proselyte but worshiped the God of the Jews in his own way.)" or a "Proselyte (A Gentile believer who completely adhered and joined the Jewish faith with the exception of being admitted into the Temple because Gentiles were still a lower class of believer compared to the Jew.)" NEVER ONCE WAS THE ISSUE as I have stated before. What was the point is exactly what i stated earlier and I will also CORRECT YOU BECAUSE YOU SAID THE SAME THING AS ANGEL. Here Let me show you where you did it as I highlight your words (with a few typo corrections).

ET Posted: Its NOT NECESSARY* WE KNOW about his conversion process, and God DID NOT TELL US when or how and where, or WHAT TOOK PLACE, because this is not the spiritual point of the passage BUT IT IS THE FOCUS AGREEMENT WITH WHAT YOU [Angel] have posted... BEING SUBMISSIVE* TO RECEIVE God's word of Truth BY FAITH TO BELIEVE, AND RESISTANCE to the truth BECAUSE OF DOUBT SEEKING ONES OWN WILL AND SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS instead of God's will and His righteousness... and WHEN A PERSON IS BROKEN they come TO SUBMISSION AND REPENTANCE and WILL PROVE THEMSELVES as servants of the Lord...AS WAS THE CASE WITH THE EUNUCH.

ME: Now, considering the fact that the TEXT DOES NOT SAY that the Eunuch was BROKEN, SUBMISSIVE, REPENTANT, AND HAD TO PROVE HIMSELF, if all he was told by Philip that in order for him to be saved he had to ONLY BELIEVE ON JESUS' GOSPEL IN ORDER TO BE SAVED AND NOTHING MORE? Did it ever occur to you that the whole second statement of Angel's was wrong? Obviously not because you are as wrong and deceived as she is in her teaching, sister.

But Here. I'll go you one better along with the explanation for WHY I put the Provers 26:4-5 there now, sister. I put it there to show you my whole method AND because the Lord has gifted me to teach His Word, (which is why I make sure that what ever I state has no error and is well informed and studied so that no one may be wrongly taught, or made to stumble because there is a greater condemnation and therefore more responsibility on my part.), admonish, encourage, rebuke, convince, and warn others within the faith such as you two women.

In your first post you stated this:

"This ALSO DEMONSTRATES that those called into ministry by God to be pastors and evengelists, and prophets and teachers as stated in Ephesian 4, must do as God has so ordained in the church, EQUIP THE SAINTS FOR THE WORKS OF THE MINISTRY, AND PREACH AND TEACH THE GOSPEL TO THE LOST."

I saw what you erroneously made in your first post regarding the Eunuch and knew that there was a case for correcting BOTH of YOU while also taking notice that you both have a rebellious, disrespectful, controlling, contentious, and condemning spirit of the Jezebel spoken of in the 1st and 2nd Kings of the Old Testament so I had to make sure that both would respond as you did. And the Great Lord above answered and confirmed my prayers about you two again by your responses to show for it.

So tell me, ET. HOW COULD EPHESIANS CHAPTER 4 ACTUALLY APPLY IN THE CASE OF THE ETHIOPIAN WHEN ALL HE DID WAS GET BAPTIZED AFTER HE BELIEVED UPON JESUS AND WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN? How was he equipped by ANYONE as you have stated if Philip disappeared and you see nothing of the Ethiopian afterwards? How can you apply that Eph. 4:11 to that situation when it was ALL the WORK of the Holy Spirit to begin with be the renewing of the mind and the work of BELIEF (Jn 6:29) to the eunuch?

You see the error of your teachings, sister? No? Well how about this part also?

You advise Angel with: "Angel, What great counsel to heed - Proverb 26:4-5. Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, and he will be wise in his own conceit.

In other words, God recommends silence as the best answer to a fool."

ME: And just HOW MUCH MORE WRONG CAN YO POSSIBLY BE ON THAT AS WELL?!

Look at the verses.

Prov. 26: 4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.

This verse says that if someone states an error, fallacy, untruth, unlearned, or foolish thing, then do not respond or resort to do wing the same thing in return so that you do not become like him.

Prov. 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, and he will be wise in his own conceit.

This verse actually SAYS TO RESPOND, DISCUSS, OR EVEN ASK the person who said this thing ACCORDING TO THE ERROR he has stated so that HIS FOOLISHNESS CAN BE EXPOSED! How could you even come up with this WRONG interpretation that "God recommending to be silent as the best answer" when the very verse shows the opposite? Have you not read Proverbs 27:5 where it says that "open rebuke is better than hidden love"?

ET, one thing that i am starting to truly question about your comprehension of the very Word you are going to school to learn so that you in turn can teach as a pastor to others. Frankly, I'm afraid for you and whomever is put under your subjection because the Word strictly says that a woman should not teach and this occasion might be the evidence of why. I suggest you give yourself fully to the obedience of the Word of God, my sweet sister.

Sisters, I, as a fellow brother, and teacher of the Word, warn you both that your teachings are in error and that you both are being contentious and rebelling the very Word of God by even TEACHING when the Scriptures say otherwise (1 Cir 14: 34; 1 Tim 2:12) and taking an authority over a fellow brother. I suggest that you both repent and give yourselves over to prayer and to God for the cleaning of your souls as I will pray that the Lord will release you from this malignant spirit because I love you both.

ME: Actually my dear sister. Let me remind you that you made this topic with a header of "Preach the Word ! 2 Timothy 4:2". So with you even having that verse as a header and then coming at me the way you did as I came to question you on something, your very first response was unbecoming as a woman of God and disrespecting the very verse you titled this topic after because you did the complete opposite of:

2Ti 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

You showed no patience or teaching that was worthy of preaching in season or out of it. You simply, and most rudely responded with contention as you just proved again in this post. I see no error in the Holy Scriptures, my dear. But I do see error in your your words and responses to your fellow brethren that dictate the true intentions of your heart and spirit, Angel. And the Lord is not pleased.

As for me, I do not "respond to the Scriptures, dear sister. I ADHERE TO THEM AS YOU SHOULD BE DOING AS A WOMEN WHO IS BEING LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.

I will pray for you, sister. I will pray for your cleansing and awakening of both your souls.

DO THEY REPENT?

ANGEL: @ Agapeton You are a fault finder!!!! Arguing Bible Scripture. Is God Pleased with YOU. Pray for yourself. End

ET FURTHER ERROR: Agapeton what part of these passages and the different Bible translation DO YOU NOT COMPREHEND?... you posted Proverbs 26:4-5, in your attempt to correct me and Angel, and this is the focus.

Prov. 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, and he will be wise in his own conceit.

Agapeton said:This verse actually SAYS TO RESPOND, DISCUSS, OR EVEN ASK the person who said this thing ACCORDING TO THE ERROR he has stated so that HIS FOOLISHNESS CAN BE EXPOSED! How could you even come up with this WRONG interpretation that "God recommending to be silent as the best answer" when the very verse shows the opposite? Have you not read Proverbs 27:5 where it says that "open rebuke is better than hidden love"?

NIV) God says: Proverbs 26:4. DO NOT answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.

5. Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

KJV) Proverbs 26:4 DO NOT answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own eyes.

NLV) PROVERBS 26:4 DO NOT answer a fool by his foolish ways, or you will be like him. 5 Answer a fool in the way he has earned by his foolish acts, so he will not be wise in his own eyes.

ESV) Proverbs 26:4 Answer NOT a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. 5. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

Common English BIble Proverbs26:4 DON'T answer fools according to their folly, or you will become like them yourself.

5 Answer fools according to their folly, or they will deem themselves wise.

Easy to Read Bible (ERB) Proverbs 26:4-5 There is no good way to answer fools when they say something stupid. If you answer them, then you, too, will look like a fool. If you dont answer them, they will think they are smart.

ET STILL CONTINUES WITHOUT EVEN READING WHAT IS IN FRONT OF HER: Matthew Henry Commentary on Proverb 26: 4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

See here the noble security of the scripture-style, which seems to contradict itself, but really does not. Wise men have need to be directed how to deal with fools; and they have never more need of wisdom than in dealing with such, to know when to keep silence and when to speak, for there may be a time for both.

1. In some cases a wise man will not set his wit to that of a fool so far as to answer him according to his folly "If he boast of himself, do not answer him by boasting of thyself. If he rail and talk passionately, do not thou rail and talk passionately too. If he tell one great lie, do not thou tell another to match it. If he calumniate thy friends, do not thou calumniate his. If he banter, do not answer him in his own language, lest thou be like him, even thou, who knowest better things, who hast more sense, and hast been better taught."

2. Yet, in other cases, a wise man will use his wisdom for the conviction of a fool, when, by taking notice of what he says, there may be hopes of doing good, or at least preventing further, mischief, either to himself or others. "If thou have reason to think that thy silence will be deemed an evidence of the weakness of thy cause, or of thy own weakness, in such a case answer him, and let it be an answer ad hominem--to the man, beat him at his own weapons, and that will be an answer ad rem--to the point, or as good as one.

If he offer any thing that looks like an argument, an answer that, and suit thy answer to his case. If he think, because thou dost not answer him, that what he says is unanswerable, then give him an answer, lest he be wise in his own conceit and boast of a victory." For (Luke 7:35) Wisdom's children must justify her.

MY RESPONSE: Agapeton reads the contentious women's posts, says a silent prayer for them in intercesery fashion and re-posts this again:

ME: Again, I am SERIOUSLY STARTING TO QUESTION YOUR SPIRITUAL AWARENESS OF THE WORD AND STRONGLY WARN YOU THAT WOMEN SHOULD NOT TEACH, sister.

1Tim. 2:11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness.

1Tim 2:12 I DO NOT PERMIT A WOMAN TO TEACH or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Sad display of rebellion from two of the most prideful and contentious women in this forum. If they are shown error they quickly see lacking in someone and question their spirit and condemn to places they need to repent from.

Pray for these women, brothers and sister. For they need it most abundantly.

There is no perfect Church , perfect Pastor, Priest, Pope and any church leader. I only put my trust and faith in my Loving Gracious Lord snd Savior Jesus Christ. We attend the church of our choice to hear God's Word and wordship the Lord. and be with like belivers, that are also looking to the Lord for directions.

Paul saw the errors of the churches and pointed them out to believers. Many of the rituals and beliefs of some churches are just that, Man's ideas which sound good but many are not in the Bible, so go by God's Word and walk in the footsteps of our Lord.
