We have not arrived to the biblical response of faith on this topic. YET.

Mt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mr 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Lu 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Lk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Those that believe The word of God concerning receiving The Holy Spirit and receive the word of God will speak with tongues.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

 Titus III. 5, 6.

Mark 1:4

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the bapism of Repentance for the remission of sins.

Note

How do you expect the " Holy Spirit" to dewell in any person, who does not believe in Repentance of Sin.

This was discussed in our Sunday School class !!!

.

Yes, we all have to make an effort to receive the "Holy Ghost". You can not get the " Holy Ghost" just

by saying you have it.

Pride in yourself must be put aside.

ME: I bet it was a nice discussion, Angel. So what was the outcome to show that someone has the Holy Spirit in that discussion?

We came up with that none can tell (John 3:8).

In our discussion of such matters, we always came up with the only effort that a believer had to make regarding receiving the Holy Spirit was to just ask. Here are the verses we came up with:

Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Mat 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Mat 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith."

Mar 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Luk 11:9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luk 11:13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Joh 3:33 Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.

Joh 3:34 For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.

Joh 14:13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

May the Spirit of Love indwell you all and manifest itself to you and your actions towards your siblings, my brethren. I love you all through Christ.

Nice scripture PJ from the The Book of Acts on the Holy Spirit, however the last sentence did not fit.

Those that believe The word of God concerning receiving The Holy Spirit and receive the word of God will speak with tongues.

No We never came up with that Answer Agapeton, that was your answer and your answer does not include all their is to say on the topic.

You said no one can tell The bible says all that believe will know.

The bible say's when they where filled, they all spoke.

You have to, as we all look at what the bible teaches on the topic.

So it is a choice, will you hear the truth on The Gift of The Holy Ghost or will you reject it.

Every truth is to be established upon two or three witnesses and the post has meet that requirement.

The Holy Spirit Said when They received him They Spoke in tongues.

You either believe the word.

Or you reject the word.

If That is not true Shalom The you believe the Father and Jesus lied.

What Does The Father and The Lord Jesus Say Concerning The Gift Of The Holy Spirit.

Act 2:1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

Act 2:2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

Act 2:3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 2:5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.

Act 2:6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because EACH ONE WAS HEARING THEM SPEAK IN HIS OWN LANGUAGE.

Act 2:7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

Act 2:8 And how is it that WE HEAR, each of us IN HIS OWN NATIVE LANGUAGE?

Act 2:9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

Act 2:10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,

Act 2:11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians--WE HEAR THEM TELLING IN OUR OWN TONGUES THE MIGHTY WORDS OF GOD."

If we look at the text and ask these simple questions, we will easily discern that the WORD OF GOD NEEDS NO DEFENSE OR EXPLANATION FROM MAN'S TRADITIONS.

1. Why was the multitude bewildered when they came together to hear the disciples?

2. What did they say when they came together?

3. Were the disciples speaking in a tongue that the multitude could understand?

4. Who was understanding the tongues being spoken?

5. What were the disciples telling the multitude while speaking in tongues?

It is important that every time we see the word tongues(the Greek word is glossa) in Scripture, that we think of this event because even peter said that this is the same gift that the Gentiles got.

Act 11:15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning.

Act 11:16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'

Act 11:17 If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?"

Let the Word of God be true and the man who denies its truth be marked as a liar.
