Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Man also has a soul, his mind, will and emotion's 1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Man has a body and this is the house for the Spirit Man. Once we die, the flesh dies, but our spirit remains alive... We are so much in His likeness that as Romans 8:16 says & I quote: " The Spirit (Himself) beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God". To my understanding this means that His Spirit bears witness with our spirit... This is all over in the Bible. Take the beginning of creation; if we were made to His image, then that leads to the conclusion that our most important aspect is the spiritual one, our soul... A lot of people seem to be confused with this. And I must add that it is the spirit of a person that is made into a new creature again in Christ; it is obvious we cannot be born again in flesh.
