First of all if I have been called out, then I am a partaker of the 'Heavenly calling'! [Heb 3:1] And this is a 'calling' that is 'without repentance' or irrevocable! [Rom 11:29] God called me with out any regard to my merits either before or after my calling, but according to His own purpose and grace! And not only this, but if I am partaker of this 'calling' then rest assured that whatever might befall me during my sojourn here, in this vale of tears, they are ALL working together for my good! "And we know that ALL THINGS work together for good to them that love God, to them who are THE CALLED according to His purpose"! [Rom 8:28] Another comfort and consolation in knowing that I am 'called out' is that I am a blessed candidate who is a partaker of one of the great links of the golden chain of redemption spoken of in Romans 8:29,30! For one of those golden links speaks of being 'CALLED'! And if I am a subject of even ONE of those five links, then it stands to reason that I am a blessed partaker of them all! In other words, if God has 'called' me, then He has called me not because of any good IN ME, but because He has FOREKNOWN me in eternity past, and because He Foreknew me, He PREDESTINED me, and because He predestined me, He therefore CALLED me! And having called me, He JUSTIFIED me! But He does not leave it there! As the wise omnipotent Master builder He FINISHES what He began, and therefore He GLORIFIED me! [see Rom 8:29,30] Notice very carefully beloved, that all of this is spoken of in the past tense, because as far as God is concerned, it is already FINISHED! Few grasp the glory of Christ's proclamation on the Cross when He cried "IT IS FINISHED"! WHAT is Finished? My redemption which He came to purchase is finished! The archenemy of my soul who must be conquered is vanquished! And God's unbending LAW which demands absolute obedience is satisfied! The ransom has been paid in FULL! Whatever handwriting of ordinances that was against me, which was contrary to me; my Jesus took it OUT OF THE WAY, NAILING IT TO HIS CROSS! Say Hallelujah! [see Col 2:14]! I am headed for Heaven where my Lord is! And this is a fact that is as plain as the nose on my face! And not because I chose Him of my own 'free-will' or kept my self saved etc; but all because HE loved me and called me and with loving kindness drew me to Himself! [see Jer 31:3] And all the glory shall be to Him alone! Hallelujah! Praise His Name! Post Reply

We serve the Almighty God of the bible who says we did not choose us, but God chose us. pj choose his god he created from the doctrines his church teaches. The first statement reveals the will of God for men, it does not speak of man's will, but you will find it thru out the bible, man's responsibility is called faith, which always begins with his choosing to accept the word of God. There is only one true Church and one true lord of that same church, that is the doctrine I endeavor to walk in, not another doctrine. This response does not fit one of accepting his doctrine. The day any one is born again he becomes father, that fault is not of me if you choose another father. Post Reply

On that basis, why is the path to hell a highway with so many on it? It is because the many on that highway choose to be there. If we fail to accept God's outstretched arm then we sure are on the highway to hell. So i think, there is a choice on our part. Christ has given us salvation and the free will to choose it. We have been choosen, called out but what if we harden our hearts... Post Reply
