Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

[Remember: James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.]

We saints honour our authorities because we love God. We do not honour them as God.

Galatians 1

10 Seek I now the favour of men, or of God? Other go I about to please men? If I studied to please men, I were not the servant of Christ.

But when their law is superseding God's law, it's a time for war.

Matthew 10

37 He that loveth his father, or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:

36 And a man's foes shall be, they of his own household.

I Timothy 5

22 Lay hands suddenly on no man neither be part taker of other men's sins: Keep thyself pure.

Philippians 2

12 even so perform your own health with fear and trembling.[Work out your own salvation.]

Minister both with spiritual things and carnal things.

Romans 13

7 Give to every man therefore his duetie: Tribute to whom tribute belongeth: Custom to whom custom is due: fear to whom fear belongeth: Honour to whom honour pertaineth.

Proverbs 26

10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

Proverbs 25

21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

Proverbs 23

9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Matthew 7

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Example:

Jesus became a carpenter as Joseph, his earthly father.

Mark 6

3 Is not this that Carpenter, Mary's Son,

Mattew 13

55 is not this the carpenter's Son?

This portrays: subjection to authority, honouring Thy father, and ministering.
