The Son = Our Lord Jesus

Servants Sent = The prophets

Those invited = The Jews that were broken off (but they are currently back together again! Bible prophecy : )

Ezekiel 20:34 - "I will bring you from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered -- with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath.

Those others called = Gentiles Romans 9:24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles. This is what our good works are (Filthy rags) without being chosen and having the blood of Jesus covering us when we try to get into the kingdom.

Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. What Jesus means about many are invited ( the Jews and Gentiles The whole world) few are chosen (Elect). The man who tried to get into the wedding party ( the Kingdom) without being properly dressed ( the blood of Jesus) was Tied hand and foot, and thrown outside, into the darkness, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The man who was not dressed properly is those trying to get into the kingdom, are not saved and were not Chosen. Those people think they can sneak in and not be noticed. That is why the lord says this in scripture John 6:44 For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up. John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love.

Athena,

Luke 14:15-23,

One of the things which stands out to me in this passage of scripture is that it calls into question our motives in all that we do.

In other words, Biblically speaking, The Main Reason if not the only reason to purchase a field, purchase oxen or to get married is to prepare in great anticipation for THE BANQUETwhich is to live the life of Christ.

Notice, that if The Banquet would have been the focus and driving force of the people originally invited, they would have responded in an entirely different way.

It is my belief that to become a Radical follower of Christ begins with what Im doing on a daily basis and why Im doing itAnd He was saying to them all, If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. Luke 9:23

Are our hearts wrapped up in our fields (possessions), oxen (professions) and marriages (relationships)? Are these the sum of our priorities?

Or as good stewards do we choose possessions, professions and relationships, including marriages, in preparation and in great anticipation for The Banquet.

In the end, it is our motives along the way which will determine how we respond when we too are called

Sincerely,

Max
