Reverence, and holiness are lacking.Posted : 13 Jul, 2012 10:16 AMReverence is what is lacking in the church as well as holiness, there is no difference between sacred and profane, pleasing man is more important to some than pleasing God. God is a Spirit and we are commanded to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). As God's Word is the source of all Truth (John 8:31-32) we are to do nothing that is contrary to God's Word (Matt 28:20). Worldly bands, songs that are based on feelings and not God's Word, hands in the air, dancing and joking around, chatter during the service, chatter before the service, lack of care when conducting activities is breaking these commandments. Worship is objective, not subjective. We are to glorify God and love Him and we do this by worshipping according to His Word. Shallow "worship" generates shallow Christians. No doctrine being taught, no convictions, no separation (which is biblical; 1 Peter 1:16, 1 John 2:15-17). We are not permitted to give place to the devil but to resist him (James 4:7) and we are not doing that if we partake in these sinful elements of worship to God (Isaiah 1:15, Psalm 66:18) |
