In the world you will have tribulations; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Although we can expect some trouble in this fallen world, the good news is that we can count on Jesus for peace in troubled times. Read John 16:25-33

We go through tribulations for different reasons...sometimes because we sinned, sometimes to grow/mature/move to the next level of Christianity, and sometimes because God wants to prove to Satan we are rock solid (like Job).

Romans 5:3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

James 1:3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Dear Lone Ranger Christian ~

Before you become fully convinced that you can walk out your salvation without the support of a church family, I hope you'll be open to considering these thoughts from the heart of God . . .

Romans 8 v 31 says, "If God is for us, then who can stand against us?" It does not read, "If God is for ME . . ."

James 1 vs 2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you (together?) face trials of many kinds,3 because you (together?) know that the testing of your faith (together?) produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you (together?) may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Am I the only one who suspects that maturing in your relationship with Jesus is largely done together? Or perhaps it could even be spelled 'to~gather' . . . Jesus urged his disciples before he left, "Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together . . . even more so in the end times."

If you are like me, you may have at first missed the "togathering" that certainly seems to be quite intentional in the Word of God. The very name of Je s us is very easily an acronym for fellowship. Je (Jehova) s (saves and saves and saves) us . . .

I sincerely and fervently pray that these words are a helpful encouragement to you as you continue to consider the value of a church family and fellowship.

YEHOVAH has for sure called us to meet with HIM on Shabbat, to have a holy convocation BUT you have to walk out your own faith,,,no one will stand with you at the judgement,,not your denominational covering or your pastor only you,,so while it is good to meet,,your walk depends on you and on your relationship with our FATHER YEHOVAH and HIS SON YEHOSHUA. again meeting is good and we need each other ,,never put your faith in a denomination or church, that is for you to work

phil 2:12

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

It does seem a couple posts may have been meant for another thread. However, it is important to have other Christians around you while going through trials and tribulations.

Sometimes we go through trials so that SE can help others who will go through similar ones in the future. We can be an encouragement to others showing how we came through with God's help.

The Bible encourages us to seek wisdom and counsel from righteous people. Eventually you will be the ones giving the advice...if you're not already.

We do have to be cautious as Job's friends were quick to accuse him of sin when he faced troubles. We know that is not the case...so we need to not be quick to jump to the conclusion that someone is going through trials because of some unrepentant sin.

Be quick to pray for/with them...not quick to demand their repentance...let the Holy Spirit do the convicting.
