Free-will doctrinewhat does it do? It magnifies man into God; it declares God's purposes a nullity, since they cannot be carried out unless men are willing. It makes God's will a waiting servant to the will of man, and the whole covenant of grace dependent upon human action. Denying election on the ground of injustice, it holds God to be a debtor to sinners, so that if he gives grace to one he is bound to do so to all. It teaches that the blood of Christ was shed equally for all men and since some are lost, this doctrine ascribes the difference to man's own will, thus making the atonement itself a powerless thing until the will of man gives it efficacy...http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/0502.htm

Free will

2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.

John 3:15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

1 John 2:2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

To receive a gift I have to accept it...it's not mine until then

Ugh-Calvinism. Unbiblical doctrine which turns God into the author & instigator of sin and man a mere robot. I suggest Calvinists read Dave Hunts book "What Love is This?"

teach_ib you can not pick scripture out of context to prove you false beliefs in God, like you are at a buffet. You have no will in your spiritual birth just like you had no will in your physical birth. both physical and spiritual birth are of God.

yeshuareigns, way to show love" Ugh-Calvinism". Sorry i do not believe any human writings. Gods word is sufficient for me.

Where has teach_ib taken scripture out of context? She has shown multiple scriptures to disprove Calvinism. Secondly, I believe the bible-my pointing to Hunts book is for those interested in this subject to see how he shows evidence from the bible to refute the Calvinist position.

But hey-keep your head stuck firmly in the sand-if you're not interested in Hunts explanation as someone who has been a bible teacher for many years and a christian for over 50 odd years, be my guest.

dljrn04- I see you are also a hypocrite! You make the claim you dont believe in human writings-so I ask the question-where did you learn Calvinism from? Second-a quick perusal of your posts on other subjects shows that you quote human authors over and over!

Please, if you want to have a reasonable debate, be honest.

I suggest Dave Hunt be quiet on the issue after being embarrassed by James White

Teach...It has been shown over and over again on this forum why those verses do not teach against the doctrines of grace.

It has been and always will be to those that accept the word of God,as the word of God life changing with eternal rewards.

Basic English knowledge and understanding, a sentence declares something in it's word's, and to those that believe it is non negotiable.

Every word of God,is full of the life of God to manifest it's declaration in the heart of any and all that believe.

Free-will doctrine

I see a person that has posted yet another topic concerning the "Free Will" of man and women which is actually a "Self Will" for the purpose of what ???...

Did it do what it is intended to do ???

Did it bring Glory to GOD ???

Did it Exhort the Brethren ???

Do people not see and understand that their own "Self Will" and "Choice" has a part in it and everything ???

If Conviction is the result desired...it is best to leave that work to the one that is empowered to do it...the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD...for man/women who take on this role are only capable of Condemnation...for they are Depraved Sinners and No Good found with in them...

Yall hava GOD HolySpirit Filled day...xo
