The best way to know the truths of the Bible is to obey and practice them. He that has his heart truly mortified to this world, and is crucified with Christ, being made alive again by that Spirit of regeneration, He alone attains to the most quick and lively apprehensions of those Truths that are revealed by Christ in His Gospel.
My Bible studies were examining this subject, which is on how to understand God�s Word. Thought I'd share what I was studying and learning regarding seeking the truth. Thank you, dlrrn04, for this topic. It's one of my favorites. :)
*The Bible is all inspired by God.
2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
*Jesus says to build on the rock, a solid foundation, to become wise.
Matthew 7:24-25 - 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
*Every word of God is good for spiritual food
Matthew 4:4 - 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
*God commands every believer to study and seek God�s approval.
2 Timothy 2:15 - 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
*Meek and humble spirit to understand God�s Word
Psalm 25:9 - 9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Isaiah 57:15 - 15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
*When we begin to learn God teaches us line upon line.
Isaiah 28:10 - 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
*The Bible tells us how to study the word.
Psalm 1:2 - But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in his Law doeth he meditate day and night.
*The Bible tells us how to rightly interpret His word. We need the Spirit of God; the spirit of truth.
1 Corinthians 2:9-14 - 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 - 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
*To find His truth in His Word, search for God with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 - 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
