Posted : 29 Jul, 2012 05:19 PM I've seen a lot of Christians question other Christian's belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and call them false in one way or another in the faith in my time, so I was wondering what makes a true believer in the Lord considering we are all sinners saved by grace? No one that is saved is a sinner, for if they are a sinner then they are not saved the word of God is very clear on this. A sinner is a person. Sin is an action by a person. A christian in Christ is not a sinner. The expression in Christ is primarily speaking of at least two terms. Context will tell: In Christ sometimes as the person. In Christ is translated the anointed one and is anointing Phil 4:13 Post Reply

Bible first; here's Romans 3:21-26: "But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference [between Jew and Gentile], for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood � to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished � he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus." Agapeton asked "...what makes a true believer in the Lord...?" I think it's a faith, brah, that leads us to receive Jesus as he now is. Do we need to understand Romans 3:21-26 to have that faith? Romans 10:9 says "If you declare with your mouth, �Jesus is Lord,� and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Simplifies things a bit, eh? You need faith to do that, which works with the Romans 3 bit. There's a lot more that comes afterwards, yet maybe that's the bare beginning. Btw, I'm sure that there is a right answer to this particular question - God's answer. But that's for him to know, and for us to explore in his revelation, remembering that none of us will know it as he does. @phillipjohn: I'm not sure that Agapeton explicitly said that we are sinners after salvation, but thanks for the reminder that being in Christ cleanses us of sin before God. No Donna you know me according to reformation theology, and that has nothing to do with the fruit you see in a believer's life. You will not hear me boldly proclaim the word of God, as according to man in stead of The word of The lord. Post Reply

Posted : 1 Aug, 2012 06:32 PM Brother bloodnok and sister Jude got paid attention to the question when I asked "how do you know if you are in Christ" instead of pointing to what others should be like. The point of this thread was to ask yourselves the very basic question of am I judging someone whom I don't know, or see (outside of the very limited font we read in a few threads here) enough to judge with the same measure that I will be judged with? Because it would not be a good assessment if we did this considering we deserve the very wrath of God that will be revealed on all those who practice unrighteousness.
