I humbly submit..."The Mark Of The Beast" is nearing...

An excerpt from this article...

The pay-per-pew model turned up in Protestant and Catholic churches, too, and some churches were particularly serious about the commitment. Poor Aaron Smock was the subject of an 1884 article in this newspaper under the headline, Smock Must Pay His Pew Rent. The Second Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Freehold, N.J., sued him when he fell $600 behind on his bill for Pew 62.

Why? Because people are tithing, or that the Mormons have unknowingly shown the unbiblical nature of the whole practice enough to raise an unbiased search for the Biblical truth regarding this?

By the way...just to be direct here...

My opinion is that the tithe was for the Jewish Priesthood to preserve the scriptures.

Support the scribes so that the scriptures/law would be kept continually refreshed and not lost to time. The scribes had a job. They were paid for their job. The only scribes I know of today are businesses like Zondervan or Cambridge.

There are a lot of other 'duties' to the position of course, keeping up the temple, judging matters, keeping the Spirit alive in the people (as much as possible).

Today, tithing has become a token, a source of income for the 'show business'...the admission price to the theater if you will.

My opinion is this...if you see someone in need, help. If someone asks you for help, help. It should not be limited to a mere 10%...it should be based on serving the Lord and serving your neighbor. By the way, this could extend upwards of 100% of your income! *smiles* It's ALL HIS anyway. We are just stewards.

To continue with a 10% God tax on believers is ridiculous in the extreme.

I cannot say this in public as it's just my OPINION and really doesn't matter.

I just thought you should know where I stood on things.

If I say any of this openly it will most likely do more harm than good.

Feel free to plagiarize anything I said though! *smiles* Just make sure my name isn't attached to it!

My view is...post scriptures, not opinions, let the Spirit enlighten and let people draw their own conclusions. It's working for me so far...if it's not broke, don't fix it! *smiles*

Much peace and love to you!

J.
