THE MESSIAH DIRECTS THE FINAL BATTLE

Psalm 110:1 The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

2 The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies.

3 Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth.

4 The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.

7 He will drink from a brook beside the way; therefore he will lift up his head

Devotional:

The first verse of Psalm 110 is quoted more often in the New Testament than any other Old Testament text. That's because it speaks directly about Jesus. He is the Son and Lord of David. He is now on the throne of the universe, where he will remain until his salvation is complete. Then his enemies will be his footstool, as in ancient Assyrian pictures that show a king with his foot on the back of his enemy's prone body. Christ's enemiesincluding death and hellwill be overcome by his power.

The psalm goes on to say that that our King is also a Priest "in the order of Melchizedek." He sacrificed his life for us (v. 4).

The Messiah's army consists of volunteers (v. 3). That's you and I and all Christ's followers. God's army and God's truth are relentlessly marching on (vv. 507). The picture is as bloody as David's conquests, but for us it's the spiritual battle of New Testament times.

Paul refers to this psalm in 1 Corinthians 15:2526: "For he [Christ] must reign until he [God] has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death."

Christ is on the throne already. We don't crown him king, but we either recognize him as Lord or we don't. The main battle has been won, but the war continues. Let's all make sure we are on the right side, the winning side.

THE MESSIAH DIRECTS THE FINAL BATTLE..?

Is that future tense, or present tense?

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;" [Mattityahu/Matthew 13:41]

HE ANGELS..SHALL GATHER OUT OF HIS KINGDOM ALL THINGS THAT OFFEND, AND THEM THAT DO INIQUITY"..?

He has been directing the battle for 2,000 years, His kingdom has come, it came 2,000 years ago. His angels are purging it of 'all things that offend and them that do iniquity':

"And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." [Markos/Mark 9:1]

Yahusha/Jesus kept His Torah. There were some men there that did not see death before His Kingdom did come.

Heaven is here, now; it is in you if you are one of His bachiyr eklektos.

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." [Lukos/Luke 17:21]

Is "the kingdom of Elohim in you"?

That is the real question.

Shalom
