Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--
2 a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,
3 and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
4 To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Devotional:
The Bible is the record of God's promises. Of course, there's more than promises in the Bible. But the promises are the core of the book. Those who believe the book live by its promises.
The main content of all these promises is life. The promise of life is as old as death. But the fulfillment of the promise of life came at a certain time, here called the "appointed season." That season was the time Jesus arrived on the scene.
Jesus is God's gift of life to the world. He "brought to light" what God had promised since ancient times.
Life is communicated to us by means of a Word that is preached. God entrusted this life-giving Word to apostles, who became his authorized messengers. Since Paul was one of these apostles, his letter to Titus is an apostolic letter.
This month we will read Paul's letter to Titus and his second letter to Timothy. As we do, we will particularly note Paul's concern that the Word be guarded, preached, and practiced. Paul lays everything on the line for the sake of this gospel. And he wants Titus and Timothy to do the same. Having or losing this word, Paul claims, is having or losing life.
Any person or church that has experienced the value of this Word will cherish it more than health or money.
I do appreciate your zeal in bringing the truth the forum. Abba laid you upon my heart just awhile ago this morning as my feet were touching the floor, and showed me how He is using you, and of the treasure that is within You! He has enabled me to see "the Daughter of Virtue" which you are, and are to be, and of how you are so precious to Him, so pure in heart, a delight to Him. He showed me that you do not rightly comprehend that you were made as you are, so that you would not be desired by men, and treated therefore disrespectfully, but that one man would be enabled to see deep, to the treasure hidden in the field. Some men are made for a common purpose and some for a noble. The common has external attributes which men desire, but is profane, because men do not comprehend that what they consider as "valuable", is "worthless" to Abba.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." [Yeshayahu/Isaiah 55:8]
You are that which is rare, a sanctified vessel [holy] truly fit for the Master's use, although you may not see it or comprehend it, and the blessing of Abba is upon You! You are that Woman of Mashal, that is described in Mashal/Proverbs 31:30:
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."
May it please Abba YaHUaH (YHUH) to bless you exceedingly.
