On http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXei0Zb3dxM&feature=related there is a presentation of the book, The Harbinger - by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, of the Messianic Judaism movement. Cahn takes off from Isaiah 9: 7-21. In Cahn's scenario from Isaiah Chapter Nine, 9-11, the fall of the Two Towers and Building Number Seven was one Harbinger of God's coming judgment upon America. The economic recession beginning in 2008 was a second Harbinger of judgment upon this nation for turning from God. There are many more details in the book. Cahn is not an average follower of Messianic Judaism, Hebrew Roots, or Sacred Name theology. He is sharper than most in this end ime movement to mix the Old Covenant with the New Covenant, and to re-instate the observation of all or many of the ceremonial laws of the Torah - to bring Christians back to God by leading them to observe the ceremonial laws - the shadows of the substance which were entirely fulfilled as Jesus Christ.
But some in the Christian Zionism or Dispensationalist camp have been critical of Messianic Rabbi Cahn's The Harbinger. Some others who believe in the primacy or superiority of All Physical Israel as the chosen people have defended the book. So, there is a dialectic process involved here, two opposing views which, in the dialectic process, can be brought to a compromise by religious facilitators.
Both sides in the argument over The Harbinger believe in the superiority of All Physical Israel, which is characteristic not only of Christian Zionism (from John Darby, C.I. Scofield, Lewis S. Chafer and on down to Hal Lindsey, and John Hagee), but also of Messianic Judaism, Hebrew Roots and The Sacred Namers.
Its just that the Christian Zionists in the past have not insisted as much on a return to observing the ceremonial law in the Torah, the five books of Moses. That is, both factions in the argument support the theology which says God has as one of his peoples, All Physical Israel, which remain the chosen. One faction, the Christian Zionists, have not before advocated a return to the Old Covenant in such a blatant way, and the other faction made up of Messianic Judaism and Hebrew Roots people want to return to Torah observation, meaning a return to some or all the old ceremonial laws. Since the late 19th century and especially starting about 1935 or so, the United States already returned to circumcision, but claims it is for purposes other than observation of Torah. The fact that the rest of the world - except for Islamic nations and Israel - does not think that circumcision is necessary makes the American exception a little suspicious - that it had its origin, partly at least, in Protestant circles which believe that All Physical Israel are still the chosen people.
So far both main sides in the dialectic argument over The Harbinger are All Physical Israel supremacists. So, whichever side might win the argument, the supremacy of All Physical Israel wins. Its like the election in November, no matter who wins, Obama or Romney, the Globalist ruling elite wins.
According to a few who have read the book it is deceptive in that it is written by a guy who presents himself as a Rabbi of Messianic Judaism but this is somewhat concealed in the book.
So, although Rabbi Cahn's religious view or theology is not in accordance with the New Testament, the book itself is not that far off in its interpretation of Isaiah 9. The book has some subtle and deceptive kabbalistic stuff in it. Yet the book is better as prophecy than the usual Hal Lindesy type comic book prophecy coming out of Dispensationalism.
"The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars" (Isaiah 9:10).
The Harbinger has made a connection between Isaiah 9: 10 and the 9-11 disaster on September 11th of 2001, eleven years later today. The 9-11 disaster showed that America no longer has the shield over it from God, protecting it from enemies, not matter who carried out 9-11.
The second Harbinger - the economic recession which does not end and points to a worse economic disaster - is another focus of the book. The book mentions the Buttonwood Association, where financial world traders (world merchants in Revelation 18: 11,13, 15,17,) in the past gathered to practice trading in fiat money under a Buttonwood tree. The Buttonwood tree is the Sycamore Tree.
"The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars" (Isaiah 9:10).
"the Sycamores are cut down, but we will change them." (Isaiah 9:10)
The book points out that George Washington when he became President, under the new Constitution, led a crowd of important people to a church In New York City to pray to God for the new American republic. This as before the national capital was moved to Washington D.C. The church where George Washington led the leaders of the new Republic to pray to God was that church which was at Ground Zero when the Two Towers fell on September 11, 2001. It was the only building at Ground Zero still standing when the towers and Building Number 7 fell - the church with the Sycamore tree.
But the book does say that the judgment of God on the U.S. is soon to get worse. Yet we have to warn about the agenda of those in the Messianic Judaism, Hebrew Roots and Sacred Name movements, to mix the Old Covenant shadows with New Covenant light and substance which is Jesus Christ and his doctrines taught by Paul and his followers who wrote the New Testament. And we need to warn that although some dispensationalists are critical of this book, yet they too are All Physical Israel Supremacists and in the dialectic process involving them and the three movements just listed the truth is not going to win out. The Remnant will not fall for this dialectic.
My personal opinion is that 9/11 was an omen. An omen is just like a dream but it occurs in reality. You know, dreams are often full of symbols, and omens are no different. They have to be interpreted. You know, in Genesis 41, Pharaoh had a dream about 7 years of famine and 7 years of plenty. The 9/11 tragedy was sort of like a dream, except it was a real event. And the meaning of 9/11 is similar to what the Pharaoh had seen. It's a warning about changes in the economy that are on the horizon.
Basically what it means is this: The World Trade Center symbolized America's economic strength. It's going to fall apart. Pharaoh saw the dream twice, and there were 2 towers. Joseph said, "The dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass." (Genesis 41:32) So, the meaning of 2 towers falling is that there is nothing we can do to avoid this. It's going to happen no matter what. We can delay it, and we can prepare for it. But we cannot avoid it. Jonathan Cahn, on the other hand, says that we can avoid it if we humble ourselves and pray... No, I believe we are way beyond the point of no return.
What caused the collapse? Muslim terrorists flew airplanes into the buildings, and the burning oil melted the structures. The burning oil represents the price of oil skyrocketing and burning a hole in our economy. Keep in mind that America imports oil from the Middle East. Those countries command the price of oil. Those countries are not exactly our friends. If we get ourselves into a major war in the Middle East, which is coming, then the Arabs can simply disable us by raising the price of oil to a point where we simply can no longer afford it. Everything in America depends on oil, and I mean EVERYTHING! If we cannot buy oil, everything is going to shut down including the military, police, the power plants, water, internet, phone, and even mail carriers. Nobody is going to drive to work. Everybody is going to be sitting or walking on foot. The entire US infrastructure is going to evaporate in a flash. Yes, we have all the nice roads and bridges Obama is talking about, but all that won't be any good without fuel. Jonathan Cahn doesn't get into the details of what 9/11 means. He simply says that it's going to be very bad, but he doesn't get into it.
The sycamore is cut down. Yes, the sycamore near the World Trade Center fell. And that sycamore in America's history is the symbol of the stock exchange. This means the stock market is going to crash. It's going to be the biggest crash in US history, much more severe than the Great Depression. There may be more crashes in the future prior to This event, but we will recognize when This event occurs, because it's going to be bigger than anything we have ever seen.
Why? Why is this going to happen? I don't know. Jonathan Cahn is quick to say that America has turned away from God. But consider this: Why did the 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine occur? Did the people of Egypt turn against God? Did Israel turn against God? We don't know. The Bible doesn't say. I have a feeling that 9/11 doesn't really have a reason other than it is preparing the way for the Antichrist. Keep in mind that the Antichrist will rule in Jerusalem. He is not going to be a nice guy. And America would never let some other nation take over Israel. So, in order for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled, America cannot remain a dominant superpower forever. America needs to shrink. And this is happening already. We're in 16 trillion debt. The government is raising taxes, which will restrain future production. And the government is generating tens of thousands of regulations that make it more and more difficult to produce wealth. What America is doing is absolutely counterintuitive, but we have to acknowledge that this is the new trend. We are in it. We can slow down, but we cannot turn back.
During 9/11 the military was useless. This means the economic trouble we're heading into cannot be prevented by the military. Furthermore, let's not forget that the Pentagon was attacked during 9/11. This means that America may be invaded by a foreign army while our economy is dead and our infrastructure is crippled. To defend the country, we will rely once again on "WE THE PEOPLE," an army on foot. Remember, it was not the military that shut down the 4th hijacked airplane! It was the PEOPLE onboard that plane who defeated the enemy and crashed the plane into the ground.
I am not the only person who is saying these things. Shane Warren has videos on YouTube. He saw a vision of America's future. In this vision he saw that hyperinflation is going to come. Besides, 9/11 is not the only omen that ever occurred. Take for example the first miracle that Moses and Aaron performed in front of Pharaoh. It was an omen just like 9/11. Aaron dropped his ron on the ground and it became a snake. Pharaoh's magicians did the same, but Aaron's snake ate their snakes! At this point, the fate of Egypt was sealed. This miracle meant that a competition was going to follow between the God of Israel and Egypt. And God is going to come out as winner. And that's exactly what happened. Egypt's farm lands and cattle were destroyed. All their firstborn died, and finally their entire military force perished in the Red Sea. Egypt was totally defeated on every level. The result was total destruction. So, it's good to pay attention to the signs.
Another omen is recorded in 2 Kings 13. Elisha commanded King Joash to strike the ground with arrows. The king shot 3 times. Elisha got angry. You know the story. I am not going to repeat it. The bottom line is the king didn't know that his shots were symbolic of victory. The fact that he only shot 3 times meant partial victory for him. What he did was prophetic. Throughout the book, Jonathan Cahn is repeatedly saying that America was defiant because we said that we are going to rebuild. This is the biggest nonsense I have ever heard! Come on! When an earthquake hits your home, what do you do? Do you say, "Well, I guess God wants my house to be destroyed, so I am not going to rebuild. I don't want to be defiant." So, this is where I disagree with Jonathan Cahn! Rebuilding after 9/11 was an important act that symbolized recovery. America is going to come out of the economic disaster. I don't think we will come out stronger, because no nation has ever done that in history. Reckless spending always has a CONSEQUENCE that will haunt us for many decades. But we will come out, because we built the Freedom Tower. That was a symbolic act just like shooting into the ground for King Joash. We may have not realized this, but had we decided to not rebuild, it would have been a symbol of accepting destruction. So, I think, Jonathan Cahn is totally wrong when he is repeatedly criticizing America for rebuilding. All you've read here is my personal opinion.
