The New Super One Man Islamic Anti-Christ of Christian Zionism
That people are in the strong delusion of II Thessalonians 2: 10-12 and the snare of Luke 21: 35 becomes evident when those in a false doctrine persist in that doctrine even after being shown that scripture contradicts their doctrine.
Those in the strong delusion persist in following their man made theology rather than following scripture. Scripture, for example, identifies the spirit of anti-Christ as that spirit which denies that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh (I John 4: 3). But Christian Zionism says one super anti-Christ figure will arise during the last days, make a treaty with the nation of Israel according to their view of Daniel 9: 27, substituting their anti-Christ there for the Messiah, and later will desecrate the newly built temple in Jerusalem, according to their view of II Thessalonians 2: 3-4, where Paul's man of sin is to sit in the new Jewish temple, when Paul is talking about this as a metaphor for the spirit of anti-Christ indwelling the minds and hearts of those who claim to be Christians. Under the New Covenant, the physical temple was done away with (Acts 7: 48, Acts 17: 24), and the temple of God became the Christians (I Corinthians 3: 16-17, I Corinthians 6: 19).
Yet now there is a movement to make the Christian Zionist anti-Christ into an Islamic figure. This move to make the Christian Zionist anti-Christ into an Islamic zealot also follows man-made theology rather than scripture.
In the Bible the spirit of anti-Christ is a spiritual threat, as seen in II Thessalonians 2: 3-4 where the metaphor of sitting in the temple means indwelling the minds and hearts of believers. To most Christians or Jews, the Islamic religion is not a spiritual threat to their doctrines. Islam can now be a physical threat, and some of their people may kill Americans and destroy part of the country. But they are not a religion which can easily lead Christians into false doctrines as is possible for false prophets within the Christian camp itself to do by calling for a return to the Old Covenant or mixing parts of the New Covenant with the Old Covenant and in this process affirming the leaven of the Pharisees (Matthew 16: 11, I Corinthians 5; 7, Luke 12: 1). Christian Zionism opens the door wide for the leaven of the Pharisees.
A new twist on Revelation 13: 18, on 666, the number of the beast has been proposed? A guy, Walid Shoebat, claims he has discovered that in one of the Greek texts used by Westcott-Hort and for most recent new translations, the Sinaiticus , the text for Rev 13: 18 has writing which he claims is not "666" but the Islamic word shahada, which he says means in the name of Alah, and is the symbol of Islam. Therefore, the anti-Christ is Islam or a man of Islam. Walid Shoebat also claims to be a former Islamic terrorist. This is the dialectic, which sets up an opposition between Jews and Christians on the one hand and Islam on the other. By saying the anti-Christ is Islam, the Messianic Jews, Hebrew Roots guys, Sacred Namers and the Christian Zionists are trying to join Christians and Jews together more strongly against the Islamics - and in that process make Christian Zionism even more dominant among American Christians. The spirit of anti-Christ operates within the Jewish-Christian camp, and it is brought in first by the false prophets who are the proxies for all physical Israel who they claim remain the chosen people.
