Perhaps everyone here should take a few steps back, take a moment to think, and consider who we are really serving, ourselves (vanity) or the Lord?

I know that in the past I've become really addicted to that 'position of authority' where people look to you for answers and guidance, that rush you get when you share that bit of or truth that only you are privy to (God's blessing of truth to his prophet as it were). You are ecstatic with joy! You feel like you just 'saved' a person or, at the very least, put that person 'on the right path' and were doing the Lord's will.

More often than not, it was my pride and vanity. It's something I struggle with virtually every day.

A warning to all: BEWARE OF THE PIT!

Matthew 15:14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.

James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

Thanks Valde,

For your humility in you own weakness in expressing these truths. Applying them to your self on a personal level first before proclaiming them to us. That is leadership....

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

If you read this right it is in the first person. It is directed to us as individuals. It is not a licence.

When we properly apply through the Spirit doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction to our selves we will be furnished for all good works.

Valde, has set an example for all of us to follow here.

Here is a license. I enjoyed watching you attempt to proclaim otherwise though, LTM. I have come to expect nothing less from you.

2Tim 4:2

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Titus 2:15

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

You miss one thing bubba. Paul tells Tim to do the work of an evangelist.

So what is the work and message of a evangelist? That is if you are proclaiming to be one since you are using this scripture as your athority?

Why don't you start a new post on that topic LTM? Search the Scriptures for the answer and "submit" what you find for our consideration.
