~There are couple of post comments that I wanted to directly respond to this morning. As I pondered on this, I thought of two points: 1. I've seen the same couple people on the forum get consistently shown scriptural truths without much effect. IMHO rarely is one changed by a solid argument from a man's (or woman's) mouth (or typed) ... in fact, the more solid the argument the more I've watched the other one dig heels in and become determined, hardened and unreasonable....and making it personal instead of Biblical. Matthew 18:15-17 shows us how to deal with this. So I decided not to respond directly at all. BUT I have seen the Words of God change men and bring man (woman) to his (her) knees within a second of time. Which leads me to my second thought 2. there is no better response than the Word of God. What I realize is that this is what truly speaks to our heart and spirit (or not). His WORD is what we are to share. I think sometimes we can be lured into extensive ongoing arguments that distracts from the original Biblical purpose. If someone is hardened to the Word of God...... what could our words possibly say to change that? There is nothing more penetrating, more profound, more loving, more rebuking, more convicting, more challenging, more beautiful than the words from Genesis to Revelation. In truth, that is all we need. May it speak to.... who it's meant to speak to..... for that is Faith and Trust in God, isn't it? :)

2 Thessalonians 3

King James Version (KJV)

3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

T.B.K.

I am just initialing your post here to acknowledge that I have read it. Thanks for your time and efforts. I believe there is much wisdom in your approach in this post.

" There is nothing more penetrating, more profound, more loving, more rebuking, more convicting, more challenging, more beautiful than the words from Genesis to Revelation. In truth, that is all we need" Amen, this is absolutely true. One thing that I am constantly accused of here is using too much Bible. (as if that is even possible).

I try to include as much Scripture as I can in my posts for all of the reasons that you have suggested here in your OP.

I learned this truth a long time ago:

'11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it' Isa. 55:11

~What an awesome compliment -- to be told you are using the Bible too much! :applause:

~Thanks for sharing this scripture.... very fitting. :)

Excellent post Sunshine, may God grant ears to hear and eyes to see his truth through his holy infallible word. It is truth from Genesis to Revelations, some think they can pick and choose what they believe like they are at a buffet, but God does not work that way. You must believe all his word, or none of it. I love being told not all the bible is God's word. The mind of unbelieving people astounds me to make such claims.

God bless you brother and sister.
