The Transgressors, Or the Pasha, As Those In False Doctrines

Isaiah 1: 28. "And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed."

Isaiah 53: 12 "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

Daniel 8: 23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."

Hosea 14: 9 "Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein."

Isaiah 1: 28 talks about the transgressors and the sinners as two different ways of displeasing God. In Isaiah 1: 28 sinners is from Strong's Exhaustive Concordance Number 2400, chatta, "a criminal, or one accounted guilty, offender, sinful, sinner."

One who violates the moral law in some way is a sinner.

But in Isaiah 1: 28 the transgressors are from Strong's number 6586, pasha, "a primary root through the idea of expansion, to break away, from just authority, i.e., trespass, apostatize, quarrel, offend, rebel, revolt, transgress."

Transgressors are those who break away from just authority, which is the word of God, and go into apostasy, or false doctrines. It is very interesting that Strong's includes the word quarrel in the definition of transgressors, from the Hebrew word pasha. For Paul in Romans 1: 29 in talking about those given over to a reprobate mind lists debate as one of their traits, among several other traits of the reprobate mind.

In Romans 1: 29, debate is from eris, Strong's number 2054, "a quarrel, by implication, wrangling, contention, debate, strife, variance." Those who engage in quarrels are contentious, and full of strife.

On the other hand, Paul and Barnabus in Acts 15: 2 enaged in dissention and disputation with those Pharisees who claimed to believe in the Messiah, but insisted that Christians who had been Gentiles be circumcised and keep the law of Moses (the ceremonial law) to be saved.

Paul was defending the doctrines he received from just authority, that is, from the risen Jesus Christ, as he describes in Acts 26: 15-18. He was not making a quarrel against New Testament doctrines as a transgressor does.

Disssention is from Strong's 4714, stasis,a standing, position, dissention, insurrection, standing, uproar."

Paul was sticking to the position, or doctrines given him by Christ. He was standing for them.

Disputation in Acts 15: 2 is Strong's number 4803, suzetesis, "mutual questioning, i.e, discussion, disputation, reasoning."

Those who defend their false doctrines, their transgressions, or their pasha, often do so in making a quarrel against that which is of faith, and against scripture, and especially are opposed to interpreting scripture by scripture rather than by false man-made theology. Those in false doctrines develop their quarrels against scripture by use of dialogue with those standing for the doctrines given by Christ.

In a dialogue with those standing for Christ's doctrines, they make use of the dialectic, which seeks to diminish or destroy that which is absolute, fact, and is "it is written." They try to replace "it is written" by their man-made theology. They will use various tactics of the dialectic to defend their relationship with their theology, their leaders, and their group, which is their ekklesia, or assemblies.

One of the largest and now most powerful false theologies teaches that there are two peoples of God, the "church," alongside and inferior to all physical Israel, which rejects Christ. Those in this false theology cannot hear Christ in John 10: 16, "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

In Isaiah 53: 12 Christ is said to have been numbered with the transgressors, with those in false doctrines, so that he was able to make intercession for the transgressors, those in false doctrines, to bring them into his truth. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8: 32. The truth of Christ will make you free of false doctrines, of being a transgressor.

Hosea 14: 9 points out that the transgressors, those in false doctrines, do not walk in the ways of the Lord. They do not have a wholehearted acceptance of Christ, so that they have a love of his truth which inspires them to know and fully accept - to live in - his doctrines.

Daniel 8: 23 is part of an end time prophecy, which begins with reference to two pre-Cross empires, the empire of Persia (and Medes) and of Greece (Daniel 8: 20-21), and in verse 23 reference is made to the "latter time of their kingdom," the last days of the age, when "the transgressors are come to the full," that is, when false doctrines are in full swing, and the falling away of II Thessalonians 2; 3 and the leavening of Luke 13: 21 has reached its completion, then a king understanding chiydah will arise. Chiydah is said in Strong's to mean "a puzzle, hence a trick, conundrum, dark saying..." A conundrum is an enigma, mystery, mystification, poser, problem, puzzlement, or riddle.

The King James translates chiydah as "understanding dark sentences," that is, the king who stands up when false doctrines have come to completion will understand dark sentences.

Daniel 8: 25 can help explain what understanding dark sentences can mean. "And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand."

Craft is from Strong's Number 4820, mirmah, "from 7411 in the sense of deceiving, fraud, craft, deceit, false, feigned, guile, subtilly, treachery."

This king of Daniel 8: 23-25 who is deceptive and treacherous would be the dispensationalist - Christian Zionist - one man super political leader anti-Christ figure, who is to desecrate a newly rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. He is likely, however, a metaphor representing more than one major political leader, who are Kings of the North of Daniel 11 in the succession of leaders of the industrial, usury driven northern money power, who come to power near the time of the last days and the appearing of Christ.

When we see political leaders who are accomplished and powerful in their use of deception and treachery, at that time - at this time - the transgressors will have come to the full. Those in false doctrines within the churches will at this time have fully leavened the churches with false doctrines. The "till" in Luke 13: 21 indicates that the leavening goes on a while before it is complete. "It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."

Halfback, thanks for the interesting post. As I read the first half I thought you were talking about Calvinists, then I realized you were speaking of Dispensationalists. (LOL!)

Just a few things that came to mind as reading:

1) When Jesus spoke of the "other sheep" I interpret them as the Gentiles.

2) The verse 'when transgression has reached its fullness' ; I think means just as Israel had a 'process of time' for things to come to fruition (the coming of Messiah) so the Gentiles will also be given a 'process of time' where they also will ultimately reject the truth. True Believers in Jesus, both Gentile and Israelite will be saved out of these 'times' and be One Body. (basically Christ has now been presented to both Israel and the Nations, rejected by both, except for a few individuals.)

3) I think the king of Daniel 8:23-25 will be a Muslim

4) I think God is capable of 'multi- tasking'. Even though it has been the age of the Gentile for 2000 years, God has never forgotten Israel. and day by day since 1948 it is becoming more apparent.

5) The King James phrase "dark sentences" caught my attention; will have to research that!
