YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH!

Two of the marks of those who are "eklektos" are that we

believe the TRUTH and that we continue in the Word.(which is Truth) By continuing in the Word we are promised by Christ that we " WILL KNOW THE TRUTH" and because we are the chosen we will "BELIEVE THAT TRUTH"

2 Thess,2:13 " But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen (haireomai - to take for oneself) you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:" Did you catch that? God from the beginning CHOSE some to salvation. Through what? sanctification of the Spirit and BELIEF OF THE TRUTH.

As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

Observe: "Ye shall know the truth"not a truth; but the truth; the saving, purifying, glorifying truth. Keep on believing, and Jesus will teach you that great truth which is above all other truthessential, quickening, cleansing, divine. You shall know the truth. You may be charged with dogmatism, but you will not flinch from the assurance that you know the truth. You no longer guess at truth, nor hit on a sliding scale of probabilities; but you know it assuredly. You will grow familiar with it; truth will be to you a well-known friend. You will discriminate so as to know the truth when you see it, and detect it at once from the deceptive falsehood. You will know the truth, and you will not be led away by the flattering voice of error. You will have the touchstone with you, and will not be deceived by base metals. You will so know the truth as to be influenced by it, actuated by it, filled by it, strengthened by it, comforted by it, and by its power you will yourself be made true. Surely this is a good reason for abiding Christ's Words! CH Spurgeon.

Either the truth of the Gospel, the truth as it is in Jesus; meaning, that they should have a larger knowledge of it, while others are ever learning, and never come to the knowledge of the truth; but the spirit of truth should lead them into all truth, and cause them to grow and increase in Gospel light and knowledge; or Jesus himself, who is the way, the truth, and the life; and the sense is, that they should know more of him, of the dignity of his person, of the nature and usefulness of his offices; of the efficacy of his blood, the excellency of his righteousness, and the fulness of his grace, and that for themselves - John Gill

The difference is simple,

You know of thruth, you have head knowledge of truth.

Their are those of us who know the one who is truth. Relational knowing.

Not knowledge but relating with the one who is truth. We learned of Him just as you are learning of Him.

We knew Him ( the truth ) from a distance and only in our intelligence but when we moved past knowing to knowing in relating we then became more than just students of a book.

We became intimatly accuainted with Jesus and He with us.

When one gets to the point of knowing Jesus their is nothing no longer needed to prove to another including you my firend.

Does anyone here have to prove that they have a relationship with a child or a friend. With a parent or a coworker, A spouse or girl friend?

Neither do they have to prove their relationship with God. It just is.

So why not focus on building your relationship with God and delevop intimacy with Him through honesty and repentence, receiving His love for your self?

I know to you this will sound like a bunch of mushy mombo jumbo. It is what it is.

But I understand where you are coming from because I was their once in my life time. I studied to learn what was required of me to live a christian life.

It wasnt until I was confronted with the fact that with all the knowledge I had about God I really didnt trust God.

It wasnt until I was confronted with my failed trust of God and through the Spirit of God began to trust God by being called out to take a step of faith that I began to learn that I could trust God.

You see in all my knowledge of scripture I was building another wall around my self to protect my heart. Truth became another barrier in my life that would prevent me from finding Jesus who is the way , the truth and the Life.

My pride was the wall. My pride in thinking I was some great bible student filled with knowledge of truth. But in reality I was pathetic and in need. I had built this illusion of self grandure to merrit approval.

The thing is we delude our selves in thinking we are giving love in reality we are in desperate need of love. Our deep need for love and the drive to earn it destroys the very thing we are the most desiring of ,approval.

Because we are so focused on earning approval that we miss the fact that we are approved of already through Christ. Once we come to the relational truth of this we then learn to rest in peace.

We love you I walk alone and you have no need to earn our approval by showing us up on your knowledge of truth. You are approved already.

USDA # 1 choice!!!

Haha

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master and the servant as his lord.

Because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily. Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

LTM -- You and I and MY Father in heaven all know the exact reason why you chose to come and post your comments here today. Do we not? That truth is not hidden. I shall leave it to Him to answer you personally on my behalf.
