to refuse to cooperate with, submit to, etc.: to resist conscription.
To clarify when Man obeys the word of God with a willing and obedient heart, that is man's faith and in agreement with what is said in the new testament the just shall live by faith.
The first example of mankind disobeying, resisting the will of
God was in the garden.
Gen 3:1 � Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6 � And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
The law of faith was established from the beginning, and when Eve did what she did, it was a perversion of faith (fear), twisted faith, man acting on the words of Satan. all unbelief you hear to day is attributed to the work of Satan.
The second account of man resisting God was:
Gen 4:1 � And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Gen 4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:3 � And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

satan "rebelled"...(resisted)...against Yahweh...and when he did 1/3rd the angels fell with him...cast to the earth as Yahshua said...Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."....
I believe these very angels that rebelled and fell (cast) to the earth had/have a "Will" of there own...and they made their choice...lust entered into them...sin...however the Bible does not say this....the Bible does say that Yahweh gave Adam "dominion" over all that He had created...satan couldn't stand it that Yahweh was pleased in His creation of man/women and gave to Adam dominion over "everything" that He Yahweh had created...and that ole satan just couldn't stand it...jealousy...another sin...so satan did what he did willingly...deceiving Eve to deceive Adam to smite Yahweh...Yahweh wouldn't cause a person to Rebel~Resist against Him...because that's just plan stupid...and Yahweh is Righteous...not stupid....xo
