Posted : 27 Aug, 2013 09:03 PM In another thread, a member here claimed: "Yahweh wouldn't cause a person to Rebel~Resist against Him...because that's just plan stupid...and Yahweh is Righteous...not stupid Actually, the only thing that is stupid is denying the plain teaching of the Word of God in favor of one's own opinion!! :excited: 2Thess 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. This passage clearly teaches that some do not receive the love of the truth. Instead, God causes people to despise the truth (to rebel against and resist the truth) and He does so with the express purpose to condemn them for doing so. Read it again and remember John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the the Truth" 2 Thess 2:11 Therefore God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error {and} a strong delusion to make them believe what is false. Now contrast that with the next verse which expressly declares that God chooses some from the beginning to believe the truth for the express purpose of saving them. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: He chooses to save some. How? by causing them to believe the truth. However, He also chooses to condemn others. How? by causing them to believe a strong delusion. Post Reply
