1 Corinthians 13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never falleth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Amen, Teach ...

Yes, love is the catilist that brings good out of anyones life. I can attest to this in my life. Im my past I used to try cramming my interpetation down others throat and always trying to convict them of some sort of sin in their lives. I used to always be focused on the debatible scriptures. I was a very contentious individual.

Why was I such a contentious individual? Because their was unresolved contention inside of me. My unsettled heart combined with knowledge of scripture was a deady mixture that I would pour out on whatever helpless victom comming my way.

on occasion I feel that inner contention trying to raise its ugly head but I have to quiclky put in its place under subjection to the blood of Christ.

Our inner unresolved conflicts are those that drive us and become our masters unknowlingly most often.

When Jesus said no one can serve two masters God and mamon. It is the master inside of us in a compulsive manner that drives our lives or we are led by the Spirit of God. Their is no middle ground.

These types in Cor are those who are driven by their internal contentions and the evidence is evident in their lives. Just as those who are led by the Spirit the evidence is evident in their lives.

10To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. 11Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days. 12And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD. 13For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 14They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. 15Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD. 16Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. 17Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

18Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. 19Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
