Question About The Millennium . . .
Posted : 20 Oct, 2013 10:01 PM

Read below my conversation with a Christian:

Read my comments below:

"So here's my question. If we are all resurrected in the millennium and are immortal and have "heavenly bodies" than how could it make any sense that all the nations of the world "compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them"? It devours ALL of them."

My response:

We all are NOT resurrected. Why? Because ONLY the SMALL number of the TRUE believers/Christians will be saved. All other in the name-only Christians/fake Christians/tares will be judged by God. People who will attack Jerusalem are unbelievers. They will attack Jesus and His people during the World War 4. How our God Jesus is going to defend people? By fire. May be it will be the meteorite rain? Who knows. But what we see after this war? Our planet is destroyed and His heirs move to another planet created by God for people to the city called the New Jerusalem.

"Everyone probably knows by now that I tend to lean towards the idea that the millennium is not a literal 1000 year reign of Christ with the saints AFTER Christ second coming and I've listed LOTS of reasons for that over the last week or so, but I also can see why that is a minority opinion. I see WHY most people are Pre-millennialist."

My response:

Christians do NOT suppose! They listen to the WORDS of God said in the HOLY Scripture called the Bible and OBEY the HOLY words of God! Moreover, God shared with us many PREDICTIONS/prophecies telling us about the future events and one of them CLEARLY said: "Now when the thousand years have expired Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations" Revelation 20. In many verses of this chapter we see that God mentioned the millennium reign of Christ and His saints/believers will reign with Christ 1,000 Years. You still do NOT believe that that the time specified by God is NOT the millennium? Let me ask you: did God lie here? Do you condemn the God of Israel of lie? The problem is NOT what God said but if you need this God to TRUST Him and His visions/films of future events or not!

"Pre-millennialist think that there will be a remnant of people left alive to repopulate the earth and that there will be basically all the nations represented and that they will all have to come to Jerusalem to give alms and any nation that refuses, God will withhold rain from that nation. And that there will be animal sacrifices and all. Is that correct?"

My response:

The SMALL REMNANT of people who will populate the earth is called by God as the saints/believers in Revelation 20. These saints are described by God in the ancient prophecy/prediction of the future events in Zechariah 14. Here God described the World War 3 when Jesus returns and how Muslim nations will attack Israel and how these saints/believers/Christians will descend with our Lord Jesus to reign with Jesus on our planet. Here we see that Jesus is going to punish nations if they will reject to worship him: He will withheld rain from that nation. Nature will be changed as we see and most probably Jesus will give rain in the Middle East and most probably in Africa too. Jesus does NOT need alms! He is God! The false religion Islam speaks about alms. LOL. Animal sacrifices? God mentioned animal sacrifices (Ezekiel 43-46). Why? I think: for Jews because Jews do not believe in the Son of God and may be God gives them a chance to get forgiveness of sins too through sacrifices. I do not know reasons behind that but I know that God CLEARLY said about the Third Temple to be constructed soon in Israel.

"That's what I was taught at Calvary Chapel. And that all these mortal people will rise up against us that have been resurrected and are immortal all of a sudden at the very end of a literal 1000 years. And this all happens in a renewed earth environment with (it seems) the curse having been lifted and animals all being vegetarians and everyone as happy as a can be in paradise?"

My response:

Unbelievers will desire wars again. That is why they will attack the Son of god and His city during the World War 4. But during the millennium reign of Christ there will be NO wars! He will stop any wars and military conflicts. There is NO curse! LOL. I believe that "animals" described in prophecies is just a metaphor referring to unbelievers who will not attack Jews anymore. Why do I think so? Let's read the context in Isaiah 65:

It shall come to pass

That before they call, I will answer;

And while they are still speaking, I will hear.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,

The lion shall eat straw like the ox,

And dust shall be the serpent's food.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,

Says the LORD.

Why does God say that? Because unbelievers will live on earth for 1,000 years too like believers with the Son of God but there will be no wars and military conflicts. Jesus will control the situation until the World War 4.

"And yet in this paradise we have sin? And animal sacrifice? Is that correct? In paradise???? Are they suppose to be unregenerate sinners filling up the earth and then right at the end Satan gets all these *mortals* to go up against this new city of Jerusalem of *immortals*?

Does that make to sense to everyone? Anyone? Is this not what is being taught?"

My response:

As I told you the Third Temple should be built for JEWS! And NOT for other nations! What is the purpose of any sacrifice? Sacrifices are offerings to God instead of our sins. Jews do not believe in the sacrifice of His Son. May be God wants to establish the Temple for Jews again to allow them to see how His Son will enter the Temple and dwell there! The millennium reign of Jesus is NOT paradise! Sinners will dwell during the Millennium Reign too! Jesus will NOT exterminate unbelievers. This extermination is ONLY in the false religion Islam! LOL

"Another issue is that Rev 20 is a separate vision and not a continuation of the vision of Rev 19. That's the reason there is a chapter break between two very short chapters. Not only that but, if 20 was a continuation of 19 then the last verse of 19 which says "And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse" would preclude there being anyone left to repopulate the earth of verse 20. (an obvious analogy since Christ wont be sitting on a horse at his return)

So what am I missing that I need to reconsider excluding a list of old testament passages that dont "seem" to fit anywhere else that are overflowing with metaphor?"

My response:

What is vision? It is a graphic description of the future events to explain them and ideas of God. In the chapter 19 Revelation we see that the Word of God is the name of the Son of God (see also John 1:1-5, 14). What does it mean: "And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse" Jesus will judge all nations by His words and some of them will NOT survive His Judgment! They are also those who will attack Israel during the World War 3- i.e. Muslim nations and Iran. So in this chapter 19 you can see another description of the World War 3 and who will win the war! Verses 17-21: The Beast (i.e. the Antichrist) and his Armies defeated during the World War 3.
