Connecting the Scriptures On the Work of the False Prophets Of the End Times
The false prophets tend to teach scripture in a compartmentalized way, trying to isolate the verses of the Bible, and not connecting them into meaningful strands. A whole strand of scripture put together makes a stronger and clearer statement on a doctrine. But those taught by the false prophets will often quarrel against connecting scriptures into holistic strands of doctrine.
Revelation 9:14-19 and II Peter 2:1-3 as well as Matthew 24: 11 are important prophecy texts which provide knowledge about how a huge number of false prophets will deceive many and lead them away from sound doctrine into false doctrines. The falling away of II Thessalonians 2:3-4 and the leavening of the Kingdom of God of Luke 13:18-21 also give us important knowledge about this topic.
The NIV for Matthew 24: 11 says "and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people." It is not easy to diminish this doctrine in Matthew 24: 11 But Revelation 9:14-19 presents the doctrine in the language of metaphor. Dispensationalism begins from the assumptions that God now has two peoples, not one and that prophecy - and all scripture should be interpreted in a literal way, discouraging the admission that much of prophecy is in metaphoric language. And II Peter 2: 3 - "through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you" is metaphoric in that people are not literally merchandise. To make merchandise of people as a metaphor means to change them, while in the NIV exploit you does not necessarily mean to change your spiritual state and ability to discern and love the truth. The NIV avoids the metaphoric meaning in II Peter 2: 3. It also avoids the metaphoric meaning of Revelation 9: 15 and 9: 18 by translating "triton ton anthropon" as "a third of mankind," meaning one third of all people will be killed. On the other hand, the Tyndale, Geneva and KJV all have "the third part of men," which can mean man in three parts is "killed" in one part. That is. one part of three part man is "killed." This provides far different knowledge that saying "a third of mankind" is to be literally killed.
The New King James has "So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind." So, the New King James says the same thing as the NIV, that a third of mankind will be killed, meaning the killing is literal. But the translation of "triton ton anthropon" in the Tyndale, Geneva and King James versions as "the third part of men" fits with the scriptures on this strand in the Bible about the work of the many false prophets.
In Joel 1: 4-12 locusts laid my vine waste and barked my fig tree (verse 7), and in verse 12 the vine is dried up and the fig tree languishes.
The vine is found in John 15: 1-6, where Christ is the vine and ye are the branches. The fig tree is in Luke 13: 6-9, where Christ as the dresser of the vineyard asks the Father to let him, the dresser, give
new life to the fig tree, which is physical Israel, and if it does not bear fruit, to cut it down.
Locust-scorpions are in Revelation 9: 1-3, which arise at the opening of the bottomless pit. Scorpions, which talk, indicating they are metaphoric, are in Ezekiel 2: 3-6. The text begins in saying that God will send Ezekiel to the children of Israel, a rebellious house, who have transgressed against God. But God says not to be afraid of them or of their words as Ezekiel is among these scorpions.
The locusts horde which lay waste the vine and bark the fig tree appear in Joel 2: 2 and 11 in a day of darkness and gloominess which is the day of the Lord, indicating they as the locust-scorpions appear at the end time.
And - the horse of locusts are said to be the northern army in Joel 2: 20. Remember that in Revelation 9: 16 the number of the army of horsemen is two hundred thousand thousand. In Revelation 9: 15 and Revelation 9: 18 this army of false prophets "kill" the third part of men, that is, they kill one part of three part man, his spiritual part. In "killing" man's spiritual part, they reduce him to the spiritual state of the natural man of I Corinthians 2: 14, who cannot receive the things of the Holy Spirit. The army of false prophets of Revelation 9: 16 is the same group as the many false prophets who deceive many of Matthew 24: 11. In II Peter 2: 1-3 this same army of false prophets make merchandise of you, that is, they change you into a spiritual state of not being able to know the things of the Holy Spirit.
In Daniel 8: 12 a host "...cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered." The truth is cxast down to the ground by the huge numbers of false prophets and by those who are deceived into following their false doctrines.
"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up." Daniel 8: 23
For Daniel 8: 23, the "transgressors" is Strong's number 6586, pasha, "to break away from just authority, i.e, trespass, apostatize, quarrel, offend, rebel, revolt, transgress."
The huge number of false prophets and their followers apostatize, offend, rebel and quarrel with the truth as they cast the truth to the ground.
Then in II Thessalonians 2: 4 the metaphoric "man of sin" is to sit in the minds and hearts of those who are, or were, the temple of God. Since the "man of sin" is not to sit in a literal temple, but in the temple which is, or was, the believers in Christ, he is not a single, literal person either. The whole passage, II Thessalonians 2: 3-4, is metaphoric. When those who claim to be the people of God become the "man of sin" they are no longer the elect, though some can come back if led back by the Holy Spirit.
The man of sin can be seen to be the outcome of the work of either the False Prophet or of the spirit of anti-Christ, or both. The False Prophet, as many individual priests and preachers, leads people to the spirit of anti-Christ (see Revelation 13: 12). As a group claiming to be the people of God the "sinful people" represented as the "man of sin" are like the transgressors who have come to the full in Daniel 8: 23

THERE WILL BE 2 COMINGS OF JESUS ON THE SAME LAST DAY. THE FIRST COMING WILL BE *FOR* HIS SAINTS AND THE SECOND COMING *WITH* HIS SAINTS:
Revelation 19:7,8,11,14,19,20; 20:10: "The wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. Fine linen bright and clean was given her to wear...I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose Rider is called Faithful and True...The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen white and clean... I saw the Beast {666} and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the Rider on the horse and His army. But the Beast will be captured, and with him the False Prophet who had performed miraculous signs on his behalf...The two of them will be thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur...And the Devil who deceived them will be thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the Beast and the False Prophet had been thriown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
Revelation 17:14: "They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with Him will be Him called, chosen and faithful followers!"

666 is referred to in the MASCULINE gender 28 times and the Beast is never referred to in the feminine or neuter gender. It is interesting to note that if the Beast of the end-times will be a religious organization, country or city it would be referred to in the female or neuter gender!!! The masculine pronouns used for the Beast are "HIS" 11 times: Rev 13:1, 5,16b,18b; 14:9,11; 17:7b; 19:2; 20:4(2X) & Daniel 7:26. "HE" 10 times: Rev 13:1;6a,7a,7; 17:8b; 17:11; 2 Thess 2:6; Daniel 7:24,25 & Daniel 9:27. "HIM" 5 times: Rev 13:4b; 19:20; 2 Thess 2:6; Daniel 7:25 & Daniel 9:27. "HIMSELF" 2 times in 2 Thess 2:4.
In Thess 2:3 the Beast of the End-Times is called a "*MAN* of sin or lawlessness" or very SINFUL MAN and therefore the name of the Beast which adds up to 666 is a *MAN'S* name which is also confirmed in Rev 13:17b,18 below. The False Prophet is also only referred to in the MASCULINE gender and is called "HE" 10 times in Rev 13:18 {2}; 13:12; 13:13; 13:14 {3} 13:15; 13:16 and Rev 19:18.
666 is called a "BEAST" 36 or *6X6* times in Revlation and the False Prophet of 666 is called the *BEAST of the EARTH* one time in Rev 13:11.
The False Prophet of 666 will be very powerful and well-known and most likely will be a very deceptive speaker on TV and very good at telling lies.{Obama??} There is no evidence as to the nationality of the False Prophet of 666. Satan is called a Dragon in Revelation 12:3,7: and 13:1 and 16:13.
The BEAST mentioned 36 {6X6} times in Revelation is a much better name than the antichrist since anti-christ is mentioned 5 times in God's Word {I John 2:18{2X}, 22; 4:3; 2 John 1:7} and each time the word encompasses all who are against Christ. Such as I John 2:18: "Even now many anti-christs have come."
Revelation 13:4-10: Men worshipped the Dragon {Satan} because he had given authority to the Beast {666}, and they also worshipped the Beast {666} and asked, "Who is like the Beast {666}? Who can make war against him?" The Beast {666} was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for 42 {30-day} months {Or 1260 days or time {360 days} times {720 days and 1/2 a time {180 days} {See Daniel 7:25 and Daniel 12:1,2,7b} ....
He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And He {666} was given authority over **EVERY** tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb that was slain. He who has an ear let him hear: If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go . If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints!!
Revelation 13:11-18: The I saw another Beast coming out of the *EARTH*{The False Prophet}. He had 2 horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon {a deceptive liar like Satan}. He exercised all the authority of the first Beast {666} on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast {666}, whose fatal wound had been healed. And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come from down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast {666}, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image {Or statue} in honor of the beast {666} who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image {Or statue} of the first beast {666}, so it could {Miraculously} speak and cause all who refused to worship the image {Or statue} to be killed. He also forced everyone to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast {Nero Caesar?} or the number of his name {666}. This calls for wisdom. if anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is a man's number. His number is 666.
Daniel 12:1b,2,7b: �There will be a time of distress {The Great Tribulation} such as not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time {The Last Day} your people--*EVERYONE* whose name is found written in the Book {Both OT & NT Saints}�will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt�It will be for a time. times and half a time {1260 days-Rev 12:6,14, or 42 {30-day} months-Rev 13:5-{Not 7 years} *ALL* these things will be *COMPLETED.
Daniel 7:21,22,25-27: This horn {666} was waging war against the saints and defeating them, until the Anceient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed theKingdom...He {666} will speak agains the Most High and oppress His saints . The saints will be handed over to him for time {360 days} times {720 days} and 1/2 a time {180 days} {Or 1260 days}. But then the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever {See Rev 19:20}. Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His Kingdom will be an EVERLASTING KINGDOM!!
By comparing Revelation 12:5 with Revelation 12:13 we know rhat time {360 days} times {720 days} and 1/2 a time is exactly 1260 days; and also 42 30-day months is also exactly 1260 days!!
Matthew 24:3,9-13: The disciples asked Jesus, �What will be the sign of your Coming and the *END OF THE AGE*?? Jesus answered�.. {During the 1260-day or 42 month Great Tribulation} �Then *YOU* will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and *YOU will be hated by all nations because of Me. At that time many will turn away from the Faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of *MOST* will grow cold,{THE GREAT APOSTASY} but he {The Called, Chosen & Faithful-Rev 17:14b} who stands firm to the *END will be saved. This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to *ALL NATIONS* {See Rev 7:9-15}, and then the *END will come!�
Matthew 24:29-31: Jesus says, �Immediately after the distress of those {1260} days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light and the stars will fall from the sky. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will **APPEAR** in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.� {Luke 21:28 adds �When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.�} Then the nations will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send His **ANGELS** with a loud {7TH & LAST} *TRUMPET* CALL and they will gather *His elect* from the 4 winds {Mark 13:27b adds:} �from the ends of the earth {Saints on earth} to the ends of the Heavens {Saints in Heaven}!!�
