The Voice of the Bridegroom and of the Bride Is Heard No More At All In Thee
Jeremiah 23:6: "In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness." Remember in John 15: 1-7, Jesus is the Vine and Ye are the Branches? The Branch is Jesus Christ in his people who have part of his mind in them as Paul says in Philippians 2: 5. In Christ, his people become new creatures (II Corinthians 5: 17), and the old creature, as the natural man who cannot know the things of the Spirit, has passed away. That which was of the physical in the Old Covenant has also passed away with the shadows that is the ceremonial part of the law (Hebrews 10: 1, Colossians 2: 17). In being born again, those in Christ are transformed as Romans 12: 2 says, "be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." Transformed is translated from the Greek word, metamorphousthe. Those in Christ undergo a major change, from being in the spiritual state of the natural man who does not know the things of the Spirit, to a condition of coming to the knowledge of the truth, which is a metamorphosis‎.
Without this metamorphosis, or being born again, as Christ tells Nicodemus in John 3: 3, you cannot see the kingdom of God. Seeing the kingdom of God is salvation. The kingdom of God is within us, in our inner life. One effect of this transformation in Christ is love of the truth, without which one cannot be saved, as II Thessalonians 2: 10-12, "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
Just as one must be transformed to enter the kingdom of God, so one can be changed spiritually back to the condition of the natural man who cannot know the things of the Spirit by huge number of false prophets (Matthew 24: 11), who in II Peter 2: 1-3 bring in damnable heresies, or false doctrines, and with feigned words make merchandise of you. The metaphor of making merchandise of you is diminished back to the literal in many new Bible versions, which say, as the NIV does, that these false prophets will just exploit you, not really change you spiritually. But the metaphor of making merchandise of you means they reduce you to the level of "merchandise" by their feigned words; they reduce you down spiritually. "Feigned" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance number 4112, plastos, to fabricate, mould, artificial, fictitious. The words the false prophets use are fabricated to mould your spiritual condition back into that of the natural man of the flesh. Their words are noth truth, and do not feed the sheep of the Lord as he demands of his shepherds. Man who remains in the flesh, which is body and mind, no matter if he is lured by the feigned words of the false prophets to believe he has had a born again experience in making an alter call, citing a prayer, or claiming to repent from sin, does not become a member of the elect.
Galatians 2: 20 says "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Those who live in Christ become a part of the Israel of God in Galatians 6: 16, which is that Israel, following Romans 9: 6-8, who are the spiritual seed of Abraham, which is the seed of God, as contrasted to the children of the flesh, whether Jew or Gentile, who are not the children of God (Romans 9: 8).
Israel in Strong's is number 3478, ישׂראל, yiśrâ'êl, he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: - Israel. He will rule as God. This is the Israel of God, or the Israel which is of God, with Jesus Christ in it and in us.
The term Zion is used a great many times in the Old Testament. Sion, meaning Israel of the New Covenant, is used seven times in the New Testament, and twice in the Old Testament. Sion, as Greek word, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance Number 4622 is said to mean a hill of Jerus. Zion, a Hebrew word, is Strong's Number 6726, which is said to mean "as a permanent capital, a mountain of Jerus. So, Zion as Israel of the Old Covenant is metaphoric, since it literally means a hill of Jerus, and Sion as New Covenant Israel, is also metaphoric. But Sion is of the New Covenant, and it is New Covenant Israel, after the transformation took place at Cross and the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2.
Israel, called Zion, of the Old Covenant was transformed into Israel reborn in Christ as he demands of Old Covenant Israel in John 3: 1-11. This was called turning Jerusalem upside down in II Kings 21: 13, and in Jeremiah 18: 1-6 God shows that he was to change Israel, but it was still his people Israel, only changed. This is a fundamental part of the Gospel of Christ. To reject this transformation and to claim that God has two saved groups, or one saved group and a virtually saved group is another Gospel.
The Israel of God, or Sion as the new Israel of the New Covenant, is not the 501C(3) institutional meeting, or assembly from ekklesia, re-defined as the capital C Church. The beast of Revelation 17: 1-11 that was, was not and shall ascend is the religious system, then led by the Pharisees, that executed the Messiah they were supposedly waiting for. That beast is called Babylon in Revelation 17 and 18. "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition." The description of this false religion beast begins in Revelation 17: 1-6.
In Revelation 18: 23 the light of a candle is said to shine no more in Babylon, and the voice of the Bridegroom and of his bride are heard no more at all. The implication is that the voice of Christ and of those born again in him were heard at one time, but before the Christian community became Babylon.
Altar calls, and sinners prayers, citing only John 3: 16 and Romans 10: 13, telling people they are saved just because they went through these procedures is very often the work of the false prophets who make merchandise of you with feigned words, though the scriptures they cite are not feigned.. This is the II Timothy 3 church. II Timothy 3:1: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." II Timothy 3:5: "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. II Timothy 3:7: "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." II Timothy 3: 8 says " So do these also resist the truth."
Isaiah 14:13: "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:" This "I" now sits upon the mount of the capital C 501c(3) Internal Revenue Service incorporated church.
