Lordship salvation ?

Hello everyone:

I have listened to people on the radio say that a person MUST receive Jesus as Lord in order to be saved.

Again,i have heard people on the radio say that a person must MAKE Jesus Lord of their life in order to be saved.

Also, people on the radio say that in order for a person to be saved they have to ACCEPT that Jesus is Lord ,for either Jesus is Lord of all; OR He is not Lord AT all.

Are ANY of these statements true, can anyone show where these statements are in the Scripture.

IF these statements are in the Scriptures then why are not people proclaiming this from the rooftops.

IF these statements cannot be shown in the Scriptures, why will not the believers REBUKE,and correct those which would are teaching that which is not Biblical.

Shalom

Act 4:11 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' [fn]

Act 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

*** Thank you Sweet Yahshua...aka Jesus

Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

1Cr 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

Hi Godsjude:

Thank you for your reply.

The Scriptures you posted do not have anything to do with Lordship salvation.

Are there any Scripture which pertain to a person needing to make or to receive Messiah as LORD in order to be saved.

Shalom

Yes George there are plenty. There are not any that will satisfy any one that opposes themself. There is a very specilal reason that one must confess Jesus as lord, do you know what it is?

These sayings/teachings are completely false. There is nothing in the Bible to support these teachings. Jesus talks about people receiving Him but He is not talking about salvation. He is talking about acceptance of His teachings or Him as a teacher/rabbi. Which is what he was. There is never any mention of accepting Jesus at all. There is also no support for the idea that Jesus is a "personal savior" and as you pointed out, "Lord of your life".

I think it is impossible to keep the church from teaching these doctrines. I have tried and have been asked to leave and not come back. The church is steeped in tradition and will never change it's ways. If you don't want to hear this kind of teaching you have to find a church wit doctrine that is far different with a pastor that not only knows better but refuses to teach it. Good luck with that!

@Truth Carrier, I think your missing the point. The OP is about what saves someone.

"Also, people on the radio say that in order for a person to be saved they have to ACCEPT that Jesus is Lord ,for either Jesus is Lord of all; OR He is not Lord AT all." This is just a stupid thing to say. It sounds more like a marketing campaign than Truth. Jesus is either Lord of all or is not Lord at all? Totally wrong idea being expressed here. Jesus is Lord period. Accepting that He is Lord will not save you. Satan believes He is Lord and he isn't saved. You can't make Jesus Lord of your life when He is already Lord of all creation. He is Lord of your life whether you are saved or not.

Show us a verse from the Bible that says that a person has to accept Jesus as Lord of their life to be saved. Or that they even have to accept that Jesus is Lord to be saved.

Do you believe Yahshua aka Jesus to be GOD...the very Elohim...Yahweh ???...Is HE not the LORD of your life ???...

Exd 20:3 You shall have no other gods before Me. ...Have you not surrendered to HIM ???...Mar 1:15 The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel....I'm really courious as to your answers...looking forward to them...

Jhn 8:58 Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, [[[ I AM. ]]]

*** That I AM means He is GOD!!!!...:bouncy:

Mar 14:61 But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 Jesus said, [[[ I am. ]]] And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

*** This i am means He is GOD!!!!...:bouncy:

Luk 22:70 Then they all said, Are You then the Son of God? So He said to them, You rightly say that I am.

*** He admits they are right saying so....He is GOD!!!!...:bouncy:

There is a theological teaching going around Christendom that says it is possible for one to accept Jesus as Savior without also recognizing Him and accepting Him as Lord; that it is possible to believe in Jesus without repenting of sin and yielding to His authority. To be sure, many of those who teach such a message do so out of a passion to keep the grace of God free of human effort and human works. But in reacting to one false teaching, I believe they have ridden the pendulum from one extreme to embrace another. As a result, they have abandoned such concepts of repentance and obedience and submission from the message of the gospel.
