I know that there is a specific forum regarding christian song here. But, nothing wrong to discuss about it here right?..Its a biblical question too :) 1) Some people hv their own fav. secular songs/singer. Smtimes, it becomes a habit to listen to your fav songs in certain period of time - maybe daily. How does that affected your feeling when you sing to christian songs-during fellowship or during church time maybe? Do you feel easily sunk into God's presence or how..Why is that? 2) Personally, i used to listen to secular songs so often. It feels good right, that you able to be in your own little world with your kind of songs..but honestly, these songs makes me kinda depressed smtime and make me more hopeless, lol. Do you feel the same too? What do you think about it..is it because the songs seems fit to your current life situation or maybe any reason..? 3) What do you think about - singing secular songs for example like everyday and then worshipping God from the same mouth? Every thing that we can see in this world is seems normal, and seems that it means to happen & exists that way for certain purpose, but doesnt mean that, its all right and good thing. If you have the experience of teaching/sharing this topic to others, for example in your church or anywhere, maybe you can share about it here too. :) Hope we all can learn together in a good way!! Do you feel easily sunk into God's presence or how..Why is that? *** I love singing�I�m not very good at it but I do it anyway�Worship Music reaches into my Soul and it just washes through me�if that makes sense�on Sunday service it�s a mix of Gospel and Currant�We have a Celebrate Recovery Ministry also on Wed night and the music is all Currant and the line up is lovingly put together... 2) Personally, i used to listen to secular songs so often. It feels good right, that you able to be in your own little world with your kind of songs..but honestly, these songs makes me kinda depressed smtime and make me more hopeless, lol. What do you think about it..is it because the songs seems fit to your current life situation or maybe any reason..? *** As far as secular...I listen to Country mostly�and old time rock and roll with a lil blues tossed in�however I am very selective about what I listen to�If a song I listen to is agitating I turn it off or change the station� 3) What do you think about - singing secular songs for example like everyday and then worshipping God from the same mouth? *** I don�t see anything wrong with singing secular songs on any day as long as its not HeavyMetal� Punk�Rap�and the subject matter is Kosher�(for me not saying you or anyone else)�because that�s the kind of music and song that agitates me the most and its because of the subject matter and tone of the music� Every thing that we can see in this world is seems normal, and seems that it means to happen & exists that way for certain purpose, but doesnt mean that, its all right and good thing. Posted : 3 Sep, 2014 09:59 AM I like the subject matter of worship music (obviously) but secular music can be more varied and interesting to listen to, but I have to be careful because of lyrical content. I want to find more worship music that is varied and alternative than standard slow worship music. :waving: Post Reply
