those who set requirements and limitations, know not God

It amazes me to see these profiles such as of a woman who is 56, but who is "only interested in men between the ages 35-55". Then there are those who are "only seeking someone within 100 miles", or "I do not do long distance relationships".
Don't these women know that such notions of God being a genie in a bottle, and if you "pray hard enough", or "ask for what you desire", that He will grant your heart's desires, and turn the world into an amusement park, just for you.
I know that men do it, too.
Don't these people know that all true believers see this as carnal wickedness and attempts to please the flesh (in the Name of God and faith", and that this is a sign that all who think that they may shape their lives as they please, are still under the curse, not one who is regenerated..?
Could this be the reason why so many are divorced or remain single? Is it possible, just possible, that God has something entirely different, since we are talking about "walking by faith", that what He wants, is not what men want?
That is the answer. Yes, this is the main reason why men ask and pray for things that are pleasing to their flesh. This is also the main reason why prayers are not answered at all, for those who are immature saints:
"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3
These type of thoughts, are not the thoughts of regenerated men, but of men and women who are yet without comprehension that their carnal thoughts and ways are not those of holiness and consecration unto God the Father:
"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:7-9
It is this sorcery, that men may have the world, each as they will, that causes all wars and divorces to exist and be manifested in the first place:
"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?" James 4:1
If one is truly regenerated, they will not longer want what the world wants, and desire what the world desires.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things (foolishness notions and worldliness) are passed away; behold, all things (the knowledge that God truly controls all things) are become new." 2 Cor 5:17
Some ask, "won't God give me the desires of my heart, as it is written,?" Yes, God is definitely going to give you the desires of your heart, for that is the key. There are two hearts in men. There is the heart that is still warped and filled with the lusts and darkness of this world, and then there is the heart which is truly regenerated. It is the latter heart which is indwelt by the Spirit of God, not the one that lusts and thinks to have it their way (as though life is Burger King).
All men's goings, from their mother's wombs, are of the LORD. He uses men and women, as either vessels of mercy (the hearts regenerated) or as vessels of wrath (the heart which thinks it may command God to satisfy its lustful appetites).
"Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?" Proverbs 20:24
"O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself, it is not in man that walketh to direct his own steps". Jer 10:23
Only the fools think that they may place requirement and limitations before the Living God, Who hath declared the end from the beginning:
"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it." Isaiah 46:9-11
It is He, Who hath decreed all things which shall come to pass, Whose will shall be done in heaven and upon earth:
"And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" Daniel 4:35
